Hi,
I am trying to run a single drum through an RV700
I know I could use Kong's built in Room Reverb on an individual drum, but I need it to go through the rack FX units
Is this possible? Ideally I'd like to use Rack FX on all of Kong's drums separately
Thanks

In your image you have Pad 7 selected. Right down the bottom of the image, just above the RV7000 instance, you can see 'DRUM OUTPUT' is currently set to Master FX. Use that dropdown box to change the drum output to 'Output 3-4'.
Now hit TAB to flip the rack, Create a 'Mix Channel' and wire Output 3 and 4 on the back of Kong, into the input of your new mix channel.
Pad 7 will now route all its audio to this separate mix channel, and you can load your RV7000, or any other effects you like, into the insert FX of that mix channel.
If you go back to your kong and select another pad you can route as many of them as you like to this same mix channel by using the drop down box at the bottom of Kong, or send them all to their own individual channels in this same way.
Have fun!

You can use the separate outputs on the back, which are accessed by the DRUM OUTPUT button center bottom of the DRUM MODULE editor.
You will not be able to use the Master FX except for on the main (1-2) outputs. In this scenario you use a Mix Channel for each stereo output on the back of Kong. There's no quick way to set it up, you have to do it drum by drum.
If you need the full 16 outputs your only choice is mono output, accessed by panning every other pad odd to the left, even to the right, so Pad 1 is output 1/2 panned left (output 1), Pad 2 is also output 1/2 but panned right (output 2), and so on.
If you want to use the master effect on the mix, you'll need to either use a 14:2 mixer or create a bus channel for all the drum channels and patch that into the back of Kong (Breakout Jacks/Inputs).
Hopefully this makes sense, basically you got options but it will take a bit of setup.

I really wish RS would finally add 16 stereo outs to Kong and also to add a button to keep the output assignment locked when loading patches.

The real cherry on the cake is when you change the drum patch and it doesn’t remember the routing you painstakingly set up.

this is great, thanks a lot.
Another query I had, (and forgive me cos I've just jumped from Reason 5 to Reason 13), but I'm used to routing everything into a 14 channel mixer, now it seems every device I create comes with it's own mixer
When selecting the Kong and creating an RV700, it automatically routes the Kong's master audio through the RV700. Do I need to create an RV700 with its own mixer? The only way I could get it working was by creating a new Mix Channel with a RV700, then linking the Kong to that:

You have options, but I wouldn’t necessarily choose the one in your attached image. I would either route out of the reverb into the channel INPUT (not the FROM DEVICES), or connect from Kong 3/4 out to Mix Channel Input, then just put the reverb in the insert.
BUT, not knowing what you are trying to do I can’t say for sure. If, for example, you just want to add some RV70000 reverb to all the drums, there is a couple of better ways. One is to use the built in sends on Kong, then connect the reverb to the AUX SEND 1 or 2 outputs on the back of Kong. This allows you to keep all the drums in Kong.
Alternatively, split all the drums out of kong to their own Mix Channels and just add a single reverb in the big mixer.
These solutions are both assuming you want the drums all in the same ‘space’.
If OTOH you actually want a very different reverb on each drum, the first ways are better IMO.

I want 15 drums to be routed as normal through the master, as default, with 1 drum routed through the RV700 (or any other effects, Scream etc..). The above way I screenshotted achieves this, but if there's a cleaner way, I'm all ears.selig wrote: ↑08 Jan 2025You have options, but I wouldn’t necessarily choose the one in your attached image.
