I’m having trouble using Reason to connect directly to my AirPods as a microphone. Is it possible to set up such a direct connection? I’ve looked into it in a few places but haven’t been able to make it work. Also, some people have advised against it due to high latency. Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Are you on Mac?
AFAIK this is not possible, but I'm no expert.
The latency is because of the wireless connection I suppose.
What does work is connecting to audacity, record there and export.
I recently found out about this. Also works with an iPhone as line in, connected with a lightning cable to your mac.
Connect device (cable or bluetooth) > go to audio/midi setup in utilities > enable device as an input
Then the connected device should appear as a record source in Audacity
I haven't found a way for Reason to recognize it as a rec source
