Before 13 we were able to choose the level of quantization in percentage while recording midi. Now i can only find that option after the notes are there. So i have to record unquantized and then apply quantization at 50% (for example) ?
Was that feature removed?
Thanks in advance

Oh yeah you're right, where is the option now for "Quantize notes during rec."?

Edit: Maybe the amount of quantize comes from the 1/16 or whatever you choose.

Okay so they moved that option down to the transport bar which makes sense.
But in the tools window you could also choose a percentage of how strict the quantization would be, which is not the same as subdivisions (1/16, 1/32 etc).

I think quantizing while recording was on the transport panel already at Record era. Anyway, quantizing in percents is there too, if you click yourself inside the midi clips. Are you sure you could choose the percents for the "while recording" as it was propably possible only for the midi editing and not recording.

I mean, you have the option right there above the tick-box for it, so one would assume it applies to recorded notes. Especially since the subdivision value shows the same in the tool window as it does on the transport bar.Heigen5 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2024I think quantizing while recording was on the transport panel already at Record era. I'm talking about the "Amount" . For example, i want to record quantizing at 1/16 but only at 50% strength. That used to be possible, and we would set it up in the tool window, as shown above. Now i don't see any option for controlling the amount while recording. The only solution is to record it without quantize and then apply quantize at 50%.
Am i right in assuming they removed this option? Maybe as an oversight? The choice makes no sense.

It still works, simpler than before but maybe not quite obvious. You have to use the Quantize Setup menu option (Edit Menu, or right click) to set the percentage, and then ALSO make sure you're set to "Q RECORD" in the transport or Option Menu.DNGmaestro wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024I'm talking about the "Amount" . I feel like R13 has lost several "features", such as this one, that worsened it's quality of life and workflow. Things like this need to be instantly accessible.

This further exemplifies my argument that the approach on 13 was "just take a bunch of preexisting things and change where they're located and call it an version update".selig wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024It still works, simpler than before but maybe not quite obvious. If that was all that was added I’d agree, but there were other additions. And also, this isn’t the first time things have been rearranged in Reason.loopeydoug wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024This further exemplifies my argument that the approach on 13 was "just take a bunch of preexisting things and change where they're located and call it an version update".
It DOES feel half baked in some ways, such as removing Favorites without having a replacement in place (or at least in the wings). Either their research is lacking (they didn’t pick up on how many of us relied on that feature), or they were thinking something else entirely. And if/when they DO restore this feature, lets hope it’s a 200% version of the original feature, and not an 80% “close enough” version.

What were the additions in the sequencer and it's workflow besides the "ability" to make a volume ramp?selig wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024If that was all that was added I’d agree, but there were other additions. Volume ramp has been around forever, not sure I'm on the same page as you…DNGmaestro wrote: ↑31 Oct 2024What were the additions in the sequencer and it's workflow besides the "ability" to make a volume ramp?selig wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024

As for additions, what exactly are we talking about here, the sequencer specifically, or the approach on Reason 13 in general?
