Reason 12 won't save to hard disk

My save file is located on an external hard drive. I did some work on my project today and tried to save the progress but it won't let me save. It's not a hard drive space issue. I have 216 GB free on my internal hard drive and 130 GB free on my external. I ran check disk on my external drive and found no issues. Am I screwed or what?
