oy!

okey.

so what happened with reason 13's search behaviour?
i have a particular problem:

i have a bunch of folders containing .RX2 files which are named without "spaces" - but have "_" underline simbol.
so names are one long word.

and if i want to extract only, let's say "KICK" .RX2 files from the folder... this now does no work!!!
are you at reason studios mad?!! have you completely lost your mind?!!

this exact behaviour was okey till reason v12. now in v13 this is not able any more.

let me show you this problem via two cropped screenshots:

screenshot no.1 where all files in a older are shown:
Image

screenshot no.2 where filter "kick" is applied and no files are shown!!!!:
Image

what am i missing it here?!!!
damn this is becoming frustrating!!!

ps: i have latest update/version of reason v13 which is 13.0.1d42 (build 16.358)

ps2: if i am honest... and i will be honest... I AM PISSED!!! WTF?!!! REASON!!! :x

the other thing that bother me also a lot is behaviour in sequencer. move left, right, stretch and so on. they have changed the combination of keys for doing this. do not know why. years it was as it was then they have changed it. what ever.

I'm not able to reproduce your issue, unless I'm misunderstanding what it is you are trying to do or wanting to see.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding. This is what I see:

What search location is that in the OP? Which folder or path?

It could help to delete old cache files of there are some problems.

Sorry that was me. I only added it to the end of the title and posed it as a question, trying to help focus the topic and pinpoint the issue of your "particular problem".

What other instances is the filtering not working for you? Are you typing and searching or clicking tags?

okey.

so what happened with reason 13's search behaviour?
i have a particular problem:
What I see: your current search is looking for the words "ANY" and "KICK", which produces no results because it's searching for with "KICK" AND "ANY" in the title, as expected (can replicate).
If you type just "KICK" you should see exactly what you're wanting to see.

EDIT: Sorry, the OS adds the "ANY" term once you hit enter - you don't need to hit enter to see the results so that's why I didn't notice it's added automatically - nothing to see here!!!

okey.

let me ilustrate it like this:

let's say i have a .WAV file with the name: RNW_shitty-kaka_sing-a-long_drums_KICK.WAV beside other files.
and now i want to filter out ony files with word KICK
so i type in search/filter field of reason's browser work "kick"
and?!
nothing!!!
it does not show the file with the name: RNW_shitty-kaka_sing-a-long_drums_KICK.WAV
instead it show: nothing!

just don't complicate dudes and dudeolinas okey?! :D

I'm just saying it's working for me. Here are the factory REX files for Dr Octa Rex, many with underscores, and I just typed "ahead" and instantly (as I typed) got these results:

Hopefully we can figure it out step by step.
I'm on a Mac FWIW (Mac Studio 2022 M1 Max, running Reason 13.0.1.
Can you repeat my test and see what happens? Just open the Loop Browser INSIDE Dr OctaRex (not the main Slot browser), click on All Locations upper left, type "ahead". You SHOULD see the same results as I posted. If not, consider submitting a support ticket. If so, then let's try to figure out what's happening with YOUR files specifically. I'm guessing it cannot be the "underscore" in the title since there are plenty of them in many of Reason's REX files that work just fine. One step at a time…

okey.

i have done a small test.

the thing is like this:

1. i opened reason
2. then i opened browser
3. then navigated to default location "All locations"
4. and entered in search filed word "elab"

result is: it shown all files which contains word "eLab". in both cases: with "spaces" and "underlines".
so this scenaio works as it should. everything is okey here. like in your case.

then i have done another small test:

the particular folder that bothers me, which is a collection of .WAV packs from UNDRGRND and has "underlines" in file names... that folder i have moved to root of my second nvme ssd. so to D:\. it is no longer in subfolders as it was before. now is in root of second disk at D:\UNDRGRND.

and te searching is behaving the same. it does not show only those files which has word "KICK". reason's browser does not show anything.

i have done this small test if the file path was too long for reason's browser. but it appears this is not the case.

now i am even more confused and pi**ed. ffs what now?!!
daaamn! this is strange.

--- --- --- --- --- ---

hm! now this is even more strage.
another small test.

no matter which folder i browse... if i enter anything it won't show nothing.
it only works okey in reason's libraries and reason's default locations.
everywhre else in no matter which folder... if i do a search with search string (no matter what is the search word)... the reslt is empty list. it shows nothing.

what the hell?!!

Have you added these folders to the shortcut locations in the left column?

[EDIT] I just tested this and when using the search in a folder not indexed, it takes longer, but I don't get the "no matching items" note.
