Try now: Tool to combine Polytone patches!

When Polytone was first unveiled there were a bunch of comments about wanting to combine layers from different patches. I looked into if it was possible to create a tool to do this, and it turned out to be relatively easy, so here it is if anyone's interested https://polytone.pluginista.com

Hopefully nobody overlooks this, reading the title as if it's just another feature request...
We could change the title of the thread to something like "Try now: Tool to combine Polytone patches"
Thoughts?

Should inform Mattias. Get the coders to perform some magic and add this to the actual device.

That's awesome! It sounds like you've developed a tool to combine layers from different patches in Polytone, which could be super useful for users looking to create more complex or customized sounds by merging different elements

Nice one. Now all we need is a tool to copy/paste sound engines in Europa.

It is possible to make a tool for Europa using a similar technique. The problem with doing that with Europa though is the mod matrix. Two obvious problems I see are:huggermugger wrote: ↑05 Nov 2024Nice one. Now all we need is a tool to copy/paste sound engines in Europa.
* You have a layer with a lot of mod matrix entries. If you try to duplicate it you will run out of slots.
* There are mod matrix entries causing layer 1 to modulate layer 2. You duplicate layer 2 to layer 1, however now layer 2 sounds different because the modulation source in layer 1 is different.
You could sidestep those issues by not copying the mod matrix, but that can be a key part of a sound, and if you have to manually copy and adjust all the mod matrix values I don't know how much time the tool would really save you.

I've played around with it for awhile it is so handy. It does what it says... and it is good. I have it in my browser bookmarks.
