Also, this isn't even working most of the time when I click enter, the screen does nothing.
This is horrible, what is going on at "ReasonStudios" ?

The thing I miss the most is the ability to drag DEVICES into a folder (unless I am missing something). Everything is now patch based, but I used to like having a folder of my favorite or new devices handy.
I can't see a way of doing this now.

Above the patches on the right hand side of the browser you find flat and tree. You're on tree if you see folders. Flat shows everything that is within the location you're in that fits the search parameters

What happened to the description box that displayed the length of the sample and the bit/sample-rate! This is getting ridiculous now...

Sounds like another stellar update. Is this why they released the update just before they take their month off ? To avoid incoming.

And still no visual audio file preview where you can skip through long files (you need this for ambient or film scoring).... after how many years? 10 years now?

Excuse me, but is this supposed to be a new, better browser?

I've said it before (albeit using slightly different wording) and I'll say it again: if I were to wager a guess, I'd bet that Reason Studios is seriously lacking in manpower on the dev team.
Relatively small user base + high operating costs = no $ to hire hire talented developers = snail's pace development.
I'm still pissed about my Reason 12 purchase though... looking forward to being equally pissed when I do finally upgrade to 13 so I can join in on hating that stupid floating browser!
Seriously though, why not just make the damn thing dock-able? Same goes for the edit "area". Quit telling me what to do Mattias!
In an earlier post Selig mentioned a ton of features that are basically all Pro Tools features that I'd also love to see implemented. Likewise Chimp_Spanner's video (which was great by the way and also he makes amazing music - really like the idea of MIDI chase) had a lot of great requests...
Aside from my guessing above about the state of RS' affairs, I just can't see any other "Reason" (ha..) why they'd continue to blatantly ignore even the simplest of QoL feature implementations.
I've always felt like they behave a lot like Apple in how they operate. i.e. walled garden, stable environment but lack of customizability, excruciatingly slow feature implementation, etc.
If they were any bigger I'd expect a keynote speech with Mattias in a black turtle neck

I've noticed some weird behaviour that seems to be based on what your arranger snap value is set to. I did report this during the beta but it seems to be persistent. From what I can tell you have to have your arranger set to grid for the grid to display correctly in other views (automation, edit).Whoopdee wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024I'm on 1/16 note setting but the view and grid is stuck on 1/8 mode. It keeps getting worse ladies & gentlemen.
Update: even when I unlatch the "snap" button, it's still stuck on 1/8 notes.
Update2: It works now, must be a bug unless any of you have any ideas.

I'm really missing this too, specifically any kind of info that shows how many samples you have selected. If I want to chuck a bunch of samples into NN-XT and auto-map them chromatically, there's no way to tell if I've exceeded the 88 sample limit. So I just have to keep deselecting sample zones from the editor until it lets me, and then delete what's left.

I am sorry - a bit - to say - its not personal, it is only in "job" context:
Moderators like Loque are the humanized guarantee that reason will *maybe* never be in one row with the leading DAWs again. I talked to a young guy some time ago, he didn't even now that Reason exists.
How long are you going to keep talking yourselves out of everything?
But I clearly have bad things in mind with writing big letters and be somehow a bit direct and loud ... and I can not make music, RIGHT?

I am out of this space now. I have enough. I give up. It's not your fault loque, it's just...this software, this decisions all over the last years ...it drives me crazy.
Goodbye.
Goodbye.

I have seen this comment pop up a few times here now. Can you elaborate what you mean?
I missed the live stream.. so was this something Matias or Ryan have confirmed?
If i had my fav devices back, or knew for certain that i was getting them back.. i would upgrade today.

To clarify, they did not explicitly confirm that favorites lists for devices are coming back. They only confirmed that some solution for organizing devices is coming.
That might mean customizable device categories for instance. That would be a better solution anyway (imo).

Does it matter how they bring them back if the functionality is brought back?

I didn't want -008' to get the wrong idea.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024Does it matter how they bring them back if the functionality is brought back?
For some people, it might matter, because device categories would not let you mix devices and presets within the same list.
