Apologies if this is already been posted but i cant see anywhere what the upgrade to reason 13 price will be?

I am not sure if it has been posted anywhere yet as I have been trying to find out.

I am assuming it will be 199 but hopefully there will be some sort of introductory pricing deal. Personally 199 is a bit steep as a RRP user but waiting to see what's on offer or if further discounts can be had from jrr shop etc.

I think 199 for 5 new devices is kind of ok, especially as there is no doubt going to be some kind of sale at some point in the months to come

I think your workflow will change slightly. When editing midi you’ll keep the editing Split View open so as you select different parts they will become editable.

Not sure if you’ll have to select the note data though, that would be annoying for global changes.

No. I'm a strong believer that the tool window shouldn't have been removed. I can't talk more due to NDA, but I'm not happy. It seems they just catered the users that don't RTFM.

I work for a music library. We've spent insane amounts of money building a website with negative search, alt mixes, stems, bpm calculation, sonic-search, etc. for thousands of albums, hundreds of thousands of tracks, millions of files. I, personally, have worked insanely hard to develop a metadata system that makes all this stuff searchable/findable. The other day I logged in to work and notice the site looked weird. Everything was brightly coloured in. I immediately got in touch with the boss like "something's up with the site". Turns out, after a couple of weeks of chatting at various industry events, talking to supervisors and editors some of who use our site daily, and have done for years, NONE of them were aware any of these features existed. Even though they were right there in front of them. It actually blew my mind. These are adult, working professionals who either don't have the time or the inclination to be curious enough to just...press a button, or read the text on the screen. Every week people email asking "do you have stems for this track". There's a button...called stems.

So now we've abandoned all of our site colour branding and signposted everything to make it - in theory - idiot proof.

All of this is to say, for various reasons, I feel like computer competency has actually declined somewhat. I don't know if it's because people have grown up on phones and tablets. Or their attention spans have been nuked by short-form content lol I read something recently that a lot of Gen Alphas just don't understand folders or directory structures. Because they don't encounter them on their mobile devices. A co-worker of mine had to teach a 20something year old the shortcuts for copy/paste.

Bit of an old-man rant. But yeah this is what software developers have to contend with. My deepest sympathies to them.

"Smart phones" helped raising a new generation of dumb people!

Yeah totally worth it if you use the reason daw or if all 5 things bring value as a RRP user.

Just for me personally I already have devices that cover some of the new things in r13 so it's basically the widener, Ripley and polytone that have interest and although polytone is good I am not sure how much I would use it.

I think I will upgrade but likely once it's available around the £129 or less mark.

How about selecting multiple midi clips and applying those changes?

You can select multiple clips, then right click and go to the Note Tools submenu where you will find options to transpose, change velocity, note lengths, randomize etc. All without leaving the arrangement view.

Not seeing it anywhere yet. However, in Reason Companion there's a link to download the latest Reason installer. I clicked this and it's downloading 'Reason_1300_d26-Stable-865-Win.zip'

In Companion I try download latest version installer, a zip file of Reason 13 is there to install but get stopped everytime when press save on Mac. Any other Mac-users getting trouble?

I see they offer 20% off on Reason+ on code "REASON13" but it does not work on the upgrade, so all know.

The browser is specific to the daw itself isn't it so doubtful the browser in the RRP will change right?

Why would they keep two distinct implementations around? It's just an additional burden. Thus I expect the RRP to also get the new browser.

That R12 feature was actually removed. RS are looking to bring it back in a future build/version.

I WISH they allowed editing directly from the arrangement. Been requesting that forever. You’ve always had to double-click on a clip (or command-E IIRC) to edit MIDI.
That’s one of the things I appreciate about LUNA, you can set all the MIDI tracks to Notes view and then just zoom in and edit away on any MIDI/Audio track without clicking on anything first - simples.
