AND IT IS VERY LOUD.

... also three sometimes four different fonts on the same page? Sacrilege.

Personally, I find it a bit jarring and cringe. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Just had a look on mobile, and now the design makes a little more sense. Still, super jarring on a PC.

Ya that cutting-shaky cam footage is hectic. Surprised there isn't loud auto-play music in background.

As I edited above, it's not that bad on mobile - but certainly wear sunglasses if you plan on visiting the site on your pc

Good find Kilsane, thanks. Should be fixed in a manner of minutes. Also caught the same issue but in reverse with BV-X, that's also fixed any minute now.

I love everything about the look and the message. Reason is not living on the land of Lord Ableton nor Lord Cubase as a plugin serf anymore yeeaaahh!.
That's what I got from translating all the video cuts to morse code

My god it looks awful, what a disgusting font in the menus, it that supposed to be a joke, it's not April's fools day yet.

Their UI or visual department is in dire need of help

Looks like a teenage hipsters with no talent trying to be cool or edgy and designing their first website out of school

Someone said cringe, exactly, looks rushed, amateur. Maybe the New York, Beastie Boys rap/punk/indie whatever type of look but in a bad way.

For example. Can't event center the font in the get reason button on the top right. All sense of proportions are wrong.

Makes me kind of scared of where the company is going, while the high resolution looks nice, there's some parts of the software that looks bad that used to look good. like they lost all sense of aesthetics

Seriously, a big company like Reason Studios can't come up with better than this. Please fire the people in charge or approved of this and maybe get towards a more professional look like UAD or Luna

I keep going back to it saying that maybe I was to quick to judge. No, it's bad, almost can't believe it's real and this was approved. Ho well, time to get past the initial shock, I guess things can only get better from this garbage, kind of like when Reason 12 was released.

Hehe. You're all sounding old!
I quite like the new look but I'm surprised no-one has noticed the new device they sneaked into the video for just a couple of heartbeats. :D

This isn’t your grandma’s Reason, this is EXTREME REASON… EXTREASON… version? It’s over 9000!

Jokes aside. I like the font but it’s a bit too big on my phone.

The little blurb that repeats when you open the site is garbage, but the video that explains what reason is, is very good. The nasty blurb is truly cocaine-inspired, which may be why some people like it. Once I got past Ryan's voice, the video was a good explanation of Reason, although as usual he seems ready to run outside naked. Too bad San Francisco is so freakin cold. I highly recommend redoing the blurb, probably with people actually composing and performing with Reason.

Good new design, may be this for 30-years anniversary limited time, or may be just new regular look of site.
Reason Add-on shop, now placed like under the cut.. (not easy to find first time).
Now "Add-ons" link placed near to default "Reason" at SHOP page. But anyway, very interesting design.

Should put an end to the DAW abandonment speculation. The video too.

Urgh. Yeah, that's really bad. Looks like it was designed by old people trying to guess what kids are into these days. And that video background is such a nausiating cringey mess. Hope no one got paid actual money to mash this together!

I would also add that the use of non-linear DAWs is no longer as unfamiliar due to Live, Logic, etc., so I would take another run at the Blocks, with a revamped version of this video

I think the only issue with it was that it was about 10 years ahead of its time.

The Props were hardly breaking new ground with Blocks. Live did "non-linear" 9 or 10 years before Reason/Record implemented Blocks and arranger tracks had been a thing in other DAWs for years. Cubase originally named it somewhat clumsily as the "Play Order Track".

But we can agree that Blocks could be improved!

I like everything about the design and also a change is welcomed. The page is like reading a magazine about Reason. Cool. Nothing cringy here, just a fresh reminder on Reason. Thank you. Always liked their designs. If I can just remind RS people while we're here...I would need that midi out feature soon.

Honestly I think Reason has the worst marketing ever, but it's the best DAW. Their first big mistake if you look at the "discover" page "Reason is a plugin and a DAW". It should read Reason is a DAW and a plugin. Because you don't take a such a damn good software and call it a plugin FIRST. It's a total insult to the community and the people who built it.

At the end of the day I get it, they are looking at the Reason Rack Plugin to compete with big synth makers in the game like Omnisphere, Serum, Analog Lab, Komplete etc. Which is exactly why they should dedicate a separate category on the site for it. They won't need to constantly explain what Reason is. Right in between where it says Discover and Shop, put "Rack Plugin". Simply remove the reason word from it so it becomes a separate entity as Rack Plugin vs Reason DAW. And in the RRP page they simply explain it's a plugin gateway to use modules from the Reason DAW, SIMPLE, DONE, good night

But no, instead they are frolicking and adding even more confusion to the public with Reason+. Like HELLO, who came up with this idea? Just have it be Reason and let people buy the perpetual or subscribe to it monthly or yearly just like now but WTF is the need for calling it a separate Reason+ and have modules missing in the perpetual license holders? That has to the DUMBEST most confusing model I've ever seen. There is absolutely no need to separate them. They are truly having an identity crisis when the solution is so simple. After 30 years, you should have a normal business model already so you can focus on making the software better, because THAT is the prize.
