The improved Reason Search ...

After the disappointment of the "improved" search when R12 was launch, I hadn't checked its progress until today.

I'm surprised. They really did improve it!

At least on OSX, it's search is now comparable to all of the other DAWs instead of being 100x slower.

How did it take you so long to figure out it was not bad?

I ran the Windows version at launch and it must certainly was not this fast.

That being said, I only ran the search on the Factory Sound Bank whereas at launch I was searching my own audio folders.

Reason search was target of a series of improvements in 2 or 3 point releases between the first version and the current one.

It got WAY better searching refills and folders, to the point it even searches for vst's patch foolders if they're not hidden from the file system. For example, in my system i can search for stuff from Rob Papen's VST's, but i can't find stuff from east west or steinberg.

Yeah 12.2.2 through 12.2.7 saw several big improvements to the browser search. It's been solid for a couple years now
Oh and just FYI it's technically "macOS" and no longer "OSX". That changed around 2016 and they've moved on from version 10 or "X".
