I would love reason on Linux, althought it is possible using Wine,
Wine itself needs all drivers from Windows to get working.

And even if Reason could run on Linux natively, there
are so many Usb drivers nowadays that even Win and Mac struggle to cope with...
Imagine Korg or Roland to open source a driver for Linux users it's pipe dream...

I have an old Macbook, with Lion, that I use with old NordLead Micromodular drivers
and an old i3 with Linux and Win 10, and XP triple boot.
Win 10 is almost useless.
Too CPU and RAM hungry.
But can run Reason 11 with stock devices, couple of Fx, max 8 tracks.
XP and Linux works the best. Could it run 16 tracks and 8 FX? Idk...

Even for Win XP is quite a nightmare to keep it working when new drivers (no 64 bit) are needed...
Win 10 EOL could be the nail in the coffin for the i3...

We should be probably be working as a community with a WINE guide
for Reason and all the stuff around it... maybe an ATP with some basic config.

What kind of Linux Distro are you using if I may???

a linux version would be great, but the windows version is annoyingly close to being usable with Wine at the moment. the worst problem is ther file menu bar which doesnt work without doing a weird key combo, then theres some minor issues like missing ui elements on the transport bar, and certain graphical things like europa's wavetable look glitchy. everything else works just fine though, no audio issues that i can notice anyway

I have been asking for this for 20 years. Reason and some of my other DAW software is the only reason why I have a windows computer. Studio One now has a Linux software that is in beta, All I need now is for a Linux version of Reason, Cubase/Nuendo. Bitwig already has a Linux client which runs smooth as butter. Before a Linux Version I want a Reason 13 with huge sequencer updates/additions, Mixer enhancements. RPG-8 enhancements, enhancements to all their players.
Reason, Nuendo, Studio One

as a total machead I still claim that we need it, because suddenly - when opening your computer becomes a subscription - we need a perpetual rsn-license we can use on a homebuilt linuxbox where we can swap RAM & SSD's as we want...

Update for wine like interfacing for windows applications (VST mainly)
(looks like on Mac wine is getting new updates with Crossover and Cpx, Apple devikt tool, bottled apps, something
Rosetta 2 can do that currently Linux lacks, but the outcomes in the gaming division are outstanding... great premises... but behind there is a billion dollar industry - gaming on the M1 M2 M3 Macs with Sonoma)
Of course Native Mac apps run better than the translated version, but the gap is closing fast ( M3 Studio Max Pro Mac, 32 gb Ram... yeah... )

Found this Linux Audio-video blog through Hackaday.
Lots of cool tips to read.

This yabridge wine-alike guide looks particularluy interesting to share
