Does anyone know how to change my new Acer PC laptop from Windows 10 S to Windows 11 Home? It was advertised with Windows 11 Home on Amazon.

I had the same kind of issue on my Samsung laptop... I was able to get out of S mode and into Windows 11. This may help you as well.

Thanks Stephen, but I just got off the phone with Amazon and they're sending me the proper computer with Windows 11 Home.

The folks at Microsoft must have had their heads really far up their backsides if they ever thought anyone would be pleased to experience Windows 10s.

The new $350 AceMagic laptop arrived today, with Windows 11 Pro. Reason 12 works perfectly, time to take my studio outside.

Nice. Is the display bright enough? Looks like a beach with plenty of sunlight.

As a parent, I specifically bought my kid a laptop with Windows 10S on it because I knew it would be massively more secure and a much more fluid experience, which is exactly what it was for the first year or so. But then my kid got old enough and kept wanting to install regular games and software on it, so I unlocked the "S" mode and changed it into Windows 10 Home (which was free). My kid was happy, but now the thing is a lot slower and bogged down because of all the crap they installed on it. Whatever - they're happy. But there certainly is a use-case for Windows 10S, and it's not like you can't switch out of the mode. But it's a one-way street - once you change out of "S" mode, you're locked into Windows Home.Jackjackdaw wrote: ↑27 Sep 2023The folks at Microsoft must have had their heads really far up their backsides if they ever thought anyone would be pleased to experience Windows 10s.

DANGER DANGER.... I have bought three cheap laptops from Taiwan so far to run this system. Around $300 each. They all had problems and had to be returned. Time to spend more to get one that is reliable, like this HP business laptop for $550.
