Hi everyone,

Can someone help me understand the discontinuation of the old authorization?
I'm on 11 - and for money reasons not going to upgrade at the moment. Does this mean that I will only be able to use Reason where there's internet access?

Cheers,
Klaus
You will be able to continue running Reason 11 offline even after the cutoff date (September 25th), but if you need to re-authorize, for example if you upgrade your hardware, or want to reinstall Reason on a new computer, then you won't be able to renew your offline authorization.

There's a more detailed support article here.

Still on R10 and i would like to upgrade but why are the fonts in R12.6 so thick and blurry on 100% zoom?
Is there a solution or setting i missed?

I have 2 questions.
1. The D16 RE´s doesn´t look very well. is that...
2. a problem with the GPU or the RE itself. further i like to know which are the best options(If GPU is the problem ) for me when i work current on a
system with that spezifikations:

Prozessor
Intel Core i5-6200U 2 x 2.3 - 2.8 GHz, Skylake
Grafikkarte
Intel HD Graphics 520, Kerntakt: 1000 MHz, Speichertakt: 800 MHz, 20.19.15.4312

I do not need a high performance computer. The speed and performance is perfect for me.

As you can see the external RE´s are not HD and the sequencer, mixer and browser section of reason too. My Laptop has a max Resolutionn of 1380 (nearly)
Is that the :reason: ?

I'm assuming you're not on Reason+ and just regular Reason 12? First, open Authorizer and see if your D12 RE's actually downloaded high-res assets. It should say this:

authorizer.JPG (115.74 KiB) Viewed 10668 times

If it doesn't, then go into your RE folder and delete the folders for your D12 RE's and re-sync. It should then download high-res assets for those RE's. Might want to do all of your RE's if you're missing assets for all of them.

As for Reason, all assets are now in high-res for Reason 12, but Reason has to ping the server and download said assets at least once. If you want to prompt Reason to do it all over again, then delete the high-res assets in the Graphics Cache content folder when Reason isn't running, and then start Reason. It will need to be online, but it will ping RS servers and download the high-res assets for each device. This means you need to load everything at least one time. EVERYTHING. Yeah, it sucks - but them's the breaks.

Graphics Cache locations:

macOS: ~/Library/Caches/Reason/GraphicsCache
Windows: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Propellerhead Software\Reason\GraphicsCache

Are you zooming with Window's zoom function or from Reason's Application zoom in the options menu? I think there may have been a change from How Reason interaction with the built in OS zoom function and its intended to do it from within Reason itself. If you are doing it from. Reason's internal zoom then; What Enoch said above ^

Fortunately, on my latge 4K screen I can (almost) see the full height of the SSL-mixer, so I don't have to use those buttons... as that would be impossible because at that screen size they are totally unreadable

I'm on two smaller 26" displays at 1080p still, and even I don't use those buttons. But yeah - no clue why these areas are still missing high-res assets. Even their own RE.

Just to be sure they are aware of it, I just submitted a ticket about the SSL-mixer

Cool. I've had a bug report open for the Electric Bass graphics for a while now. I mean, in the grand scheme of things it's a pretty low level bug that needs fixing, and I get that. But it's just those spit and polish finishing touches that needs to be addressed. Someday.

I don't zoom.
Reason's zoom is set to standard 100% and i don't use the Windows zoom.

It's not that the graphics are blurry, it's that the fonts mainly in the browser and Sequencer are thick and blurry in R12 other than in R10 where they thinner and sharp.

Strangely enough, if I zoom R12 to 200% then the fonts are no longer thick and blurry, but then everything is much too big on my 27" monitor.

:?

I noticed this a few times, but could not reproduce it 100%. If you have a good reproduction scenario, make a video and create a ticket at RS site.

Note, in my case sometimes the fonts were blurry, sometimes not.

At 80%- 90% are blurry fonts. :o

How do I know that Reason is running natively and not in Rosetta mode on my M1/M2?
If Reason has a VST folder that would just stay in the VST folders section, and not activated
in the song, will it scan it and run in Rosetta pre-emptively or will start in Native and only
activate Rosetta IF the VST is launched in Reason?

Any way to check also indipendently if the Mac has activated Rosetta for Reason outside of Reason dialogs/logs/terminal/etc???

Right-click on Reason and choose "Get Info" there you will see "open using Rosetta". That should be unselected for Apple Silicon native.

Ty. I found it. It was running in Native. I decided to run a little test...

I have rerun my Europa Test with Rosetta enabled.
It seems my M2 mini is performing better with Rosetta ?!??!
PS: The test is a bit inconsistent..

128 samples 44.1 - 32/38 secs. Rosetta vs 32/33 in Native
512 samples 44.1 - 52/58 secs. Rosetta vs 46/48 in Native

I don't have an Apple Silicon Mac, so I'm not sure what to look for. Other users on Apple Silicon are reporting much better performance. What are your other audio settings? Your Max Audio Threads setting could make a difference?

Old, famous Kategra stress file on iMac M1: whole song ran complete without glitch with two bars CPU. I can use some RE with ultra settings without any single hiccup. Power gain on Apple Silicon is just incredible.

Would you mind running the Europa test also and share your rig specs?
Audio device, samples, cores, version of OS, Rosetta or Native? Ty.
My M2 Mini struggles with Kategra test, I didn't see any improvement with this 12.6 release on my system...
Actually the M1 mini I had before had a slightly faster SSD and it run the song a couple of seconds more...
Also on the M2 I went with Ventura 13.4, whilst the old M1 still had 13.0 MacOs. Both 8gb and same External Nvme drive
for applications and files on thunderbolt port. Mutu Ultralite on FW - Thunderbolt adapter.
Imac seems to be pretty powerful and consistent in running the tests, but I had yet to see an M1 Imac.

It sounds incredibly powerful!

I'm happy to say that now Reason Plugin runs flawlessly on M1/M2 Mac mini 8gb
I could run 50 instances of Europa Full Poly patches before running out of resources in Garage Band.
50 instances is on par with the Reason Europa Test song. Nice!

Sorry, couldn't check Europa in Reason Plugin, because I have no other Apple Silicon native DAW. My iMac has 8 cores (4+4), 16 GB ram.
