R+ is online only as of now.
The new offline mode works in Windows, too! Although Apple Silicon support and offline mode are tested and released together, they are separate features.
So if you sign up for beta testing on Windows it's very helpful!

Can you switchback to non-beta? I perform live and feel a bit anxious to do that with a beta version. Obviously it's not much of an issue when practicing.
Both versions of Reason standalone are installed and can be run separately. Just try to avoid saving songs in the beta that you need in the stable version since compatibility is not guaranteed.wereMole88 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023Can you switchback to non-beta? The Reason Rack Plugin will always be the latest version you installed.
Yeah specifics about the beta should be discussed in the beta forum with other testers. This is just a news thread that the beta is available to test and it's ok to answer general questions about what is being tested as it relates to who can test.

Offline mode for Reason+/Companion is as a big deal for me personally as (finally) getting native M1. RS authentication servers were out of action for a few minutes on Sunday. It was only (I think) around 10 mins or so, and not a big deal in the great scheme of things, but it was 10 minutes when I had an idea in my head, fired up Reason and.... bang. Reason auth server call home not working, no REs available etc etc etc. Total PITA because of course, at the time, I had no way of knowing if this was a 10 minute outage or much much longer. Having offline auth as, in effect, a failsafe backup will be a major step forward.
They probably have enough people testing already. Many of us with access to the Apple Silicon beta have been testing in the past.

All Rack Extensions, even ones that are no longer available for sale, get recompiled from source (the last step in building native code) on Reason Studios servers, which is how we got high-res versions of things like PX7 and RE-2A. The same principle is at work for compiling ARM native versions of REs, so they will all be available in the Apple Silicon native version of Reason.
