Anyone can confirm if PX7 got native version too? It is no longer for sale due licensing/patents (?) reasons but owners can still install it.
All Rack Extensions, even ones that are no longer available for sale, get recompiled from source (the last step in building native code) on Reason Studios servers, which is how we got high-res versions of things like PX7 and RE-2A. The same principle is at work for compiling ARM native versions of REs, so they will all be available in the Apple Silicon native version of Reason.
That's a very clever way of doing it. I was wondering how the ARM versions were created.

By "source", do you mean LLVM bitcode (https://llvm.org/docs/BitCodeFormat.html)?

Yes, source is not the right term, as RS only ever gets the LLVM bitcode from the RE dev and then uses this to create the RE native binaries on the build server.

Yeah I know about the LLVM stuff they do, or whatever tech this wizardry is. I was just curious if someone can tell me "calm down it is there" but there is the NDA, so I should probably not even ask. Hopefully everything will be fine and I can continue spending money :-D

There was a great talk about the tech behind Reason RE on youtube, highly recommended. I cannot find it anymore but it was awesome one hour long talk by the developer.

As long as there is an LLVM compiler for any new target platform adding support for it would not be all too difficult for RS. So REs are really a future proof technology as long as RS is still in business and willing to add support to new platforms.

The main issue with platform support is not porting over the REs, but instead porting the RE host application/sequencer/GUI. I really hope that any new code they've written here during the recent re-factoring in R12 has now also been ported to LLVM so there will be less hassle in the future whenever a new platform is forced upon users by any vendor.

I'm trying the beta and I have a bug to file. The link on the email isn't working for me. Please can someone shoot over a link to the bug-reporting page?

Honestly…since I can’t afford apple fancy new stuff this is just a bitter speed bump we all have to cross.
Sorry to be negative but it really shits me that I can’t afford a new comp.

I know it's still not exactly chump change, but used Apple Silicon Macs can be had for less than $500 USD. I used a MacBook Air M1 with only 8 GB of RAM for a year, and it blew my old Intel model with 16 GB of RAM out of the water in every aspect (except the screen).

500 bucks still isn't chump change for some. I, for one, think that if you went the Apple route, you should always leave some room (in your wallet) for upgrades.

Shoot my MacBook Pro was $6,000 last year but it’s the sickest computer I’ve ever had. DSP never even flinches!
Does anyone know if the Apple/Reason beta testing is almost done or the ETA on update release?
