For having the common sense to make a 4x4 pad layout for Reason Drums because It's a PITA in SD3. If only we could add our own samples like SD3 I would ditch SD3.
Kudos to Reason Studios

With the right sample set, Kong can do everything that Drums can doGoriila Texas wrote: ↑26 Feb 2023Wanted a live drum setup though and Reason Drum kit module is different than Kong.

I'm quite fond of the RE Reason Studios created around their RDK sample set. It has a nice interface, with just the right amount of "pretend studio" stuff for my taste.
Problem is, I don't think the RDK sample material is very good! It lacks all those big, long, and tedious raw samples needed to build a believable modern (in sound quality, if not in style) sound. It's pretty clunky and mechanical sounding.
The Reason Drum Kit RE could get a second lease on life with a whole new sample set, if it had as many full-length round robins and dynamic layers as something like EZ Drummer. Perhaps they could license material from a smaller company, like Goran Grooves.
Or they could allow us to import our own samples into it's structure, as long as we could define proper big and detailed sample sets.
