Ever since the last upgrade to 12.5d29, Reason has exhibited a strange bug during parameter automation recording. Namely, when I have a track set to record automation and the track is recording, a click to an automatable button will not record correctly.
As an example, say a button is off. When recording automation for this device, I click the button. It turns on and immediately off again, and the lime green automation track border appears, as though I've clicked Automation Override in the bottom right of the sequencer to reset it. Subsequent clicks will be recorded correctly, but the initial click is buggy.
I've verified this with two different input devices - a gaming mouse that doesn't exhibit this behavior in any other programs, and on a trackpad.
It's also definitely new behavior. I've been using Reason for 17 years.
This is a major part of my workflow, so I'd appreciate if you can fix this. I can record a demonstration of this if you can't reproduce it.
P.S. I'm also curious about the design decision to have pitch wheel automation automatically get cleaned up, erasing vast amounts of detail, whenever recording ceases... with no apparent way to prevent it. A checkbox would be nice to disable this behavior. I had to record the audio to capture the performance I wanted - not ideal.

I submitted this bug to support, but I wanted to see if anyone else here has noticed this:
Have you checked the "Automation Cleanup" setting under the General preferences tab?summon.exe wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023I'm also curious about the design decision to have pitch wheel automation automatically get cleaned up, erasing vast amounts of detail, whenever recording ceases... with no apparent way to prevent it. For the other behavior you describe, I've also noticed it. Definitely seems like a bug.

Thanks for the tip with the Automation Cleanup setting. I changed it from Maximum to Minimum and it's better now.Pepin wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023Have you checked the "Automation Cleanup" setting under the General preferences tab?summon.exe wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023I'm also curious about the design decision to have pitch wheel automation automatically get cleaned up, erasing vast amounts of detail, whenever recording ceases... with no apparent way to prevent it. The automation recording bug is annoying, though.

Hopefully, that fix will also take care of the pattern automation bug when using players inside blocks, as that seems also to be a regression bug and probably related to this.
