How to clear unused data

When recording my band live I might end up with a multi-track recording that has 10 songs and is an hour long. I tried cutting them up to individual songs but when save them the individual songs still have the same huge amount of data as the single long track. I have tried “save & optimize” and “delete unused recordings” but no luck.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

You have to bounce the trimmed tracks to new recordings first, then delete the original track and then save&optimise should reduce the file size of the Reason project.
