Reason not exporting stems to desktop

Hi all have had a recent issue which I’ve not experienced before - tried to export the stems of a song from reason to a folder on my desktop ticked all the mixing channel boxes hit export the desktop appears and normally you click on the desired folder and reason does the rest how however I do this but when I’m clicking on the folder nothing happens and it’s like reason hangs - using MacBook Pro- any ideas - have reloaded the daw from stratch instead that’s the issue and have the file on the MacBook not on my ssd
