Anybody want to talk me through the dummy file thing? PC.
On Mac, I just used TextEdit to create an empty txt file. Renamed it, dropped it in place of the real one, which is called "Showcase Reason 10.favo". Not sure why it says 10, as I'm using 11 Suite.
I’m on PC. Thanks though.

I know. You said that. But I would think the process is much the same. Text is text.

Right, is TextEdit just another generic word processing software?

Yes, a very basic text editor, though maybe not as basic as Notepad.

So word or notepad or OpenOffice or any other free txt program will also do the job?

You don't need any editor, just rename the original file by putting '.old' after it, and then in that same folder right mouse button, choose 'new' and then 'text document', give it the correct name, and you are done. Then go to properties for the newly created file and set it to read-only.
