Hello!
I am hoping to replicate a setting that is available on a eurorack delay module, the 4MS Tapographic Delay. This module allows you to tap in your own delay rhythm, and uses the velocity information from your tapping to affect the delay in different ways. My favorite setting is the resonance setting. This applies a very narrow bandpass filter to the delay. How hard you tap (the velocity) affects where in the frequency spectrum the bandpass is set to so that different steps of your delay rhythm occupy different spaces in the frequency spectrum.
I would love to replicate this somehow, hopefully using the gear that is already available to me as part of reason. I don't care about being able to tap my own delay rhythm (although that is really cool), I just want to find a way to affect each repeat separately or have a filter that changes with each repeat. Any ideas?
An example of the type of sound I'm hoping for can be found at 4 minutes and 20 seconds (no joke lol) in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA4l61JKSm4
I've been experimenting with using the Synchronous Timed Effect Modulator to modulate the frequency of the filter on The Echo. I leave the resonance of the filter jacked all the way up, and then I have the cv out for "curve 1" on the effect modulator patched into the cv input for the filter frequency on The Echo. I've tried a bunch of different curves and settings but none quite sound like what I was hoping for. I tried setting the delay time on the echo and the rate on the effect modulator both to 1/4, and then setting the peak of each cycle on the effect modulator to a different amplitude to try and make it so that a different part of the frequency spectrum is affected with each repeat, but it doesn't sound right. When I have the rate on the effect modulator matching the delay time, it sounds too sudden and forced. It starts to actually sound pretty close if I make a longer, more gradual curve but I don't think that's how the eurorack module works, although I could be misunderstanding how it works.
I've also tried just using the built in filter section on the effect modulator instead of the filter on the echo. I also modulate the frequency with the graphs and have tried several different curves with pretty similar results.
This is the first time I've tried modulating a filter on delay, and also the first time I've used the synchronous timed effect modulator, so I could easily be missing something. I'm also still pretty new to modulating filters in general.
Any ideas? Also open to hearing about other delay plugins that might have a similar option, and hearing about other ways of achieving a similar result. Thank you!
Is there a way to apply a separate bandpass filter to each repeat of delay or modulate a filter to give this effect?

Check out Jiggery Pokery's Steerpike Rack Extension. It is a beast of a delay and it has breakouts for each delay bucket through which you can add a bandpass filter or any effect you like. Always be careful that your break out effect is not too loud or powerful as it could generate feedback in your delays.

Parallel signals with a delay and band pass on each channel. Nice!
Just use this one (please note the breakouts on the back)

You inspired me to build an effect similar to the multi-tap in my old PCM-70s, with a filter on each tap. It's great on percussion, but also for guitar etc as in your example (try the "wobble" presets included below).
