Now all my icons related to reason are generic file icons. Wasn't there a fix for this in the past? I tried digging but, no dice.
Help!!!
Deleted 12 and beta 12 off my PC.
Re-installing R11 should fix this.
Here’s the thread from when all my refill icons disappeared. It’s happened a few times and I don’t know why.

Reinstalling didn’t help.

Thanks...In my case...my guess is, the newer reason version icon associations override the older version icon associations.MrFigg wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022Here’s the thread from when all my refill icons disappeared. It’s happened a few times and I don’t know why.

That’s what I would have thought too. Looks like the refill icon completely disappeared for some reason. Had to put a refill icon in a folder then use the file manager to associate it.BRIGGS wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022Thanks...In my case...my guess is, the newer reason version icon associations override the older version icon associations.MrFigg wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022

I had the same thing happen this week with icons turning blank after uninstalling Reason Suite 11 when Reason 12 was already installed. Re-installing Reason 12 worked on one computer, but not the other. On that computer I'd already made the mistake of trying to "open with Reason 12" a .repatch file from windows explorer and the icon changed to the same as a Reason project file.
Using FileTypesMan from Nirsoft fixed the icons for this computer. For each file extension with a broken icon:
Hope this helps anyone else that has blank icons on windows.
Using FileTypesMan from Nirsoft fixed the icons for this computer. For each file extension with a broken icon:
- Find it listed in FileTypesMan, right click it and then click “Replace file type for selected extensions” and choose the non ‘_auto_name’ typ (e.g I chose the proper Reason.repatch type name, that references the Reason.exe file and the icon ID -253).
- Right click it again, and click “Edit selected file type” and delete the text in ‘User Choice’.
- Restart PC and icons should be fixed.
Hope this helps anyone else that has blank icons on windows.
