Did anyone catch this line of the interview?
"– I noticed that you’ve released new synths and samplers in the last few years, like Friktion and Algoritm. Are those instruments developed in-house?
We utilized outside developers for certain samplers, but they’re all spec’d and designed in-house, and all the DSP-heavy work on synths like Friktion and Algoritm is done by Peter Jubel, one of our founders. We have a new one coming out in March that Peter has developed, so watch out for that."

Of course Verdane is all about maximizing profits, it is a private equity firm. Niklas has 5 years to maximize the value and profit of the company. If he succeeds he will get a fat bonus.I’ve heard that Verdane have 10-year periods for working with their acquired companies before exiting. We’re halfway through that period in 2022, so do you foresee them selling their shares sometime soon?
That’s not how we think about it – we want to make Reason more successful, which is what’ll make us more valuable as a company. It might sound cliché, but we’re not doing anything to plan for a future sale of the company. I come in everyday and think about how to get people excited for Reason and the chips will fall where they may. Sure, we’re owned by Verdane and at some point they may have to sell, but that could have different outcomes: we might be acquired by another company in the music space, or we might work with another private equity firm. We could even IPO to become a public company. So there’s no telling what could happen in the future but our aim for now is just build a great company.

Ah yes that would make more sense. I guess the article was written awhile ago so things may have changed.

I found this to be the funniest bit so far.
I agree that RRP has helped with that move, but it's a move away from the RE eco system and until the standalone DAW gets these "features" how on earth does Reason Standalone entice people away from Logic Live Cubase Studio one...........
still maybe its a good thing to see it publicly acknowledged but I'm not looking to buy R12 anytime soon, I'm looking at a new Mac Studio and Logic to coexist with Live 11 Suite all purchased off the back of seeing yet another reason major version that just doesn't excite me "a 20+ year customer, who hasn't spent a penny since R12 dropped....."
that's why so many of us long term users has decided within the last year to spend money on a different DAW.– As you alluded to earlier, Reason’s longtime customer base is quite large. In what ways have you tried to acquire new users without alienating old ones?
.....
The other part of growing our userbase concerns our product. Some people have used Reason for 10 – 20 years and want to see specific features added, but we also have to consider the nineteen year old who wants to use Reason as a plugin in FL Studio. So there’s a balance we have to strike between how much we invest in attracting new users versus keeping things exciting for long-time users. I think we’ve done a good job with that given the small size of our team. We know that if people use Reason as plugin, they’ll eventually want to use it as a DAW too, so developing a plugin is the best thing we’ve done in a long time. Once that happened, we saw Reason receive a lot more user engagement.

Or next March
Tend the flame
I know and I do, but while I'm using another DAW I might as well buy VST's / AU's especially while RS wont offer any sales on it's devices - the only device I don't own from RS is BLG and the last offer was for R12 customers only and that just doesn't work for me as I'm not prepared to spend £199 to become a perpetual beta tester.

Has it been established that RS will no longer (ever) offer any of their RE's/Players on sale anymore?

I don't know if it's been established - but I'm thinking this has been the longest period without a sale on their devices?EnochLight wrote: ↑28 Mar 2022Has it been established that RS will no longer (ever) offer any of their RE's/Players on sale anymore?

I welcomed Reason Rack Plugin, thinking they would focus on other major things next time around. I was happy for others, but did not get it from day one. Until 11 Suite. Was going to get 12 but it wasn't "the next time around" yet for me either. I am still confident for the future, now that I am not too worried about stuff I missed in the sequencer anymore.

Indeed, that's what I meant.... they have to pull a fast one, not their greatest competence so far
My guess is that the interview was done before the latest changes to their roadmap.
