Strange wave clip behavior, File is there but not audible

My song has multiple vocal tracks in wave file clips; When I called up the file a few days ago two vocals tracks showed no wave , the clip was where it belonged in the track, but it was inaudible and invisible.
The strange thing was::: if I single clicked and hold on the clip I could see the wave still no sound
I'm solving it by finding the original clips and importing them but it's a gigantic hassle.
Any ideas on how to avoid this in the future would be helpful.

Which OS (and version) and Reason version are you working with?

No advice I'm afraid. Rebuild.
I don't remember if I've had this with audio but I've def had this with devices where a combi just stops making noise.
Create a new combi, copy/paste the patch sometimes works or not.
Usually I end up rebuilding it by copy pasting device patches within it, copy paste automation, and then it works.
I've had this in R11 for sure. Not sure about R12...can't remember. It's very odd and not very common. But I guess its very complex software and these little intermittent bugs are gonna be quite low on the current fix list.

OSX Mojave and earlier. Think it may have stopped with Catalina. Catalina seems to have cleaned up quite a few hiccups.
