I've always been a 'one monitor' guy, but in the future even sticking to a 'single' monitor may still allow some pretty impressive setups. Here are a few teases of possible future monitors from Samsung and LG (from CES):

How many monitors (Screens) do you think its optimal?
Yea, the last one was the only one I was originally going to post, then saw the others. The main thing is the trend towards bigger single monitors that divide into smaller sections, and specifically the vertical orientation in order to keep speakers in their optimal positions.

I've been using a single ultrawide for several months now and it seems to be doing the job.
I do find 34 inches is a bit large now, so I'd definitely go 28 inches next time around.
Some of them will even act like multiple displays and allow you to display from two different inputs.

After buying a second monitor, my efficiency, productivity and comfort in my work were enormous. I am currently working on two 24 inch monitors with 1,200 pixels vertically to have a little more space in Reason. In addition, I have a large TV but I rarely use it as it hangs quite high.
