Is it possible to simulate the SH101 EXT. CLK IN function in Reason?
Does anyone know if it's possible to simulate the Roland SH101 trigger function in Reason? With the SH101 you can trigger a sequence in the synth's own sequencer using an external instrument, such as a single drum from a drum machine sequence. The SH101 sequence moves forward one step every time the drum plays in the external sequence. This means you can trigger a simple note sequence using another more complex sequence with a different bar length. So far I have not found any way you can do this using Reason's instruments and players. But I assume there must be a way. Can anyone suggest a solution?

I think this is what you're looking for. I have a Redrum pattern, kick and claps. I'm using Thor's sequencer in Step RUN mode. And I'm using the Redrum claps to advance the Thor sequencer. For fun, I'm also driving a Subtractor from Thor's sequencer, layering Subtractor with Thor.
There's a drawback with this - the sequencer doesn't automatically reset to the start. Whenever you hit 'play', Thor's sequencer will simply continue from the last step. I'll spend a little time to see if there are other possibilities.

Robotic Bean's sequencer "Step" will reset to the beginning when you start song playback at the beginning, even in external clock mode. It's my favourite step sequencer.
