Hi

Can anyone please help with this either using R12 or an RE
What I’m aiming to do is put a sustained chord in via MIDI and Reason chops it into my defined pattern , a bit like what Dual Arpeggio does for arpeggios.

So say I want each note lengths of the chord to be as follows over 1 bar

3/16, 3/16, 3/16, 3/16, 2/16, 2/16

I know once I have put the chord in I can shorten in the sequencer to the above pattern, but was wondering if something did it automatically (or as close to automatic and faster than shortening each note)

Cheers
Graeme

You should check out a free VST from Alex Hilton, A1 TriggerGate. Easy to program, but surprisingly versatile, including built-in echo. It's limited to one bar, though.

Here's what your example pattern would look like. The orange outlines are mine. The black arrows are ties. I've shortened the tail end of each note for a bit of articulation, you can see the half-length green light on those steps.

Thanks for the feedback. After reading Billy’s tip re Arpeggios- (as some of the chords are 5 notes) - I remembered about Note Echo - whacked the repeats up to 15 and turned on/off the relevant steps

Glad you figured it out but I'm curious are you playing the chord via keyboard or generating them with something like scales & chords player?
