Combi 2 Midi Out CC bug?

I just created a patch editor for my Yamaha Reface CS using the Combi 2 and Midi Out device. I mapped a whole bunch of sliders to the CCs that change all the synth parameters. Great fun and so ez. The problem is when I save a patch, when I load the patch later, it doesn't send the CC values to the synth upon initial load. This kind of makes the Combi 2 not very useful as a patch editor for external synths.

Has anyone else come across this? Is it a bug or a feature?

One would think it sends the CC on load. But maybe the emi needs a gate trigger. Would be awkward though.
