Reason 12 hanging and not opening

Yes. I had a similar issue at the start when using r12 on windows 10. I had to restart the computer or go to the task manager and quit. Although now I’d been using it for a bit it seems to be running smoothly and the issue has gone. So maybe it’s it an initial thing to do with HD.

Can also "force quit" reason. How can i get it to open? There's something delaying the program from opening

Could be VST scanning.

Disable it in the preferences file.

Remove bad implemented and unused VSTs.

Buy an SSD.

No option to disable the scan, but i did get rid off VSTs I did't use, demos etc. Yeah, its still hanging. Ive been waiting 10 mins for it to open

Just remove your VST folder from scanning in the preferences file

I'll try that another time. Don't feel like waiting another 25 mins for it to open, if that isn't the problem. Thanks for your help tho, and BTW reason 11 still opens up with no probs at all.

I had the exact same problem yesterday in Windows 10. I have never seen anything like this before. It has nothing to do with VST scanning.
