Not too clear what it does that you can't do with the NN-XT, Dr. OctoRex or Grain.

I think is a mix between Grain for all purposes and Dr. OctoRex... of course is not trying to "mimic" Kontakt
Seems a nice tool anyways.

Multiple stretch modes, slice sensitivity knob look like the big deal here. The fx are a nice bonus.manisnotabird wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021Not too clear what it does that you can't do with the NN-XT, Dr. OctoRex or Grain.
I guess it's far from all new ideas but I can see most users will migrate to it away from those old devices out of convenience.

my takeaway is that RS really need to find a new sound for their demo tunes. every tune they've had in their videos over the last few years has the exact same vibe.
and the sampler--looks nice in HD, I guess. nothing too interesting musically, from my perspective, but then, I'm still in the same boat Ryan was before Mimic--sampling doesn't really interest me.

Yeah it's cool - I was perhaps holding out hope for some kind of fixed grid slice mode (put a loop in, set grid to 8/16/whatever) but it's still a very creative tool. And don't forget this version also fixed the graphics loading. I can actually work on this now.
But yeah Mimic + actually having a fast, usable search to pull things out of the FSB and my sample libraries is a big win for me.
Btw, unrelated - does anyone on Mac know how to migrate over locations and favourites lists from R11 Suite?

It looks like it met my expectations. Cool.
In the right hand I can see it doing wonders.

Looks cool to me. I’m in the same boat as Ryan.

I watched the vid. It's giving me ableton simpler vibes, I think its a great addition for beat makers who don't own umpf and use multiple nnxt's for drums. Can't wait to test drive it.

Cheers- I have launched Reason but it is not saying an update is available yet? I am Reason+ and Betajamespember wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021Update Reason to 12.1 to get it - it's built into Reason, not an installable RE. Reason auto-updater should handle it for you.

This is in the release version, it's not in the beta currently. Grab the real deal (and skip that pesky logging code while you're at it!) by uninstalling the beta and then installing Reason 12(.1) from Companion.slic wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021Cheers- I have launched Reason but it is not saying an update is available yet? Will this be added as part of the perpetual reason 12 or a product that people have to buy if not on reason+? If you cant answer yet it's fine but thought I would ask.
Time to test mimic out on my reason+ trial soon I think.

It’s sure looking good. God the props or whatever they want to be called now make some really nice devices. I jumped ship sold suite got lite but this may be enough to get me back into reason but I’m not touching reason plus - I’ll wait until september - it’s only a few weeks away!

Apart from in Grains case, looking a million times better.manisnotabird wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021Not too clear what it does that you can't do with the NN-XT, Dr. OctoRex or Grain.
Must say though, Reason Studio's really pulled off a blinder here, looks fantastic but just 2 niggles after reading the You Tube comments , no Mod Matrix and only 1 lfo. 2 really big missed opportunities (well 1 big and 1 very handy lol!)

Interesting that it's a built-in device. I though they were moving away from adding more of those.

2 questions about Mimic for Mattias.
Will you be able to drag audio from the sequencer into Mimic and what is the maximum length of audio that you can drag in?

It lacks the detection of the root key as on grain, failing that a small detection rack of the note would be welcome, (a can like Gtune by gvst)

I did not find how to access the sample editor as we can do with other samplers (should we edit our samples before importing them into mimic?
