What bar do you start on? And why?

From the instrument track drop down menu that you use to select the channel, once your happy with the groove you can select commit.

I still start on 2, mainly because I'm old enough to have used MIDI back in the day, and those hardware synths would never play in sync if you didn't give them some lead time.
