Mapping keyboard MIDI controls to VST patch selection

I use an Arturia Keylab mkII and have it mapped so that I can easily prev/next browse patches on any focused RE with two buttons but it seems that most VST instruments don't support to easily map their patch next/prev buttons to MIDI controllers.

Does anyone know any workaround for this so that in general VST plugin patches can quickly be browsed via external MIDI controller inside Reason?

In addition, some VSTs allow the PC keyboard's cursor up/down keys to be used to select and load patches. Anyone know of a workaround to map these keys to buttons on an external MIDI controller?
