Rex and wave

Does anyone know the difference between rex files and wave files ? Regarding sound quality ? It seems rex files are heavily compressed as the file size shows , but how about its quality ? Is it safe to convert many elements of the music to rex ?

Are you telling me that if I have a wave loop, and then convert it to Rex - the file size will be smaller?

Rex uses lossless compression. Same quality but obviously you need an application that understands Rex to use them whereas WAV is pretty much universal.
