Have you ever read the terms of service? Have you ever read it for any software you own?
you mean the terms they keep changing unannounced?
How often are we expected to continually read the terms to notice the changes slipped in?
YES I read the terms... and have posted the terms and terms with changes :exclamation:
they change quite often lately... the lawyers have been very busy

So as you can see, some DAWs say there is support for up to one year. And while most say "as is", some just leave it at that. Those are just some examples. Feel free to take a look at others.

So if we want bug fixes like the current RAM bug we're going to have to subscribe?
No, it's been mentioned already that RS is working on a maintenance update to fix it, and I'm fairly certain it'll get sent down the stable channel for perpetual license holders that were affected. But had this bug happened 12 months from now, for perpetual license holders that bought a license after the announcement of R+, I'd say that's a very good question.

Maybe RS/James Pember can clarify...
Not that I know either way but I'd find it hard to believe that bugfixes would get hidden behind the R+ subscription. If one person has Reason 11 and paid outright for it, and another person has Reason 11 and pays for it via R+ subscription then both individuals have the same product. They're just paying for it in different ways. RS then fix a bug found in Reason 11 and all owners of Reason 11 get access to an update that fixes said bug.

Logic is a different beast, funded by a trillion dollar company.
Let's hope Apple decides it wants to incorporate a rack style set of features into Logic in the near future and they decide to buy out ReasonStudios sack all the executives chunk loads of money at the development and leave the coders to actually make it work better rather than diversify its user base with some convoluted subscription service based on internet influencers notions of current trends. I mean come on emo rap ;)

I doubt Apple would continue to diversify the Reason user base even to include us Windows users

Clearly R+ is a success judging from all of the salt that users are throwing at it - by users who have no intention of ever subscribing. Jesus, if I spent half as much time throwing salt at something I never planned to buy, I'd never have time to actually sit down and produce music.

how about 12 months support starting when the current version functions as it should without a multitude of bugs that never should have been a thing... and not support as a way and means to find and correct bugs in their coding( that IS what beta testing is for > correct?)... but true support >>>which should imo be perpetual and not for a limited time.( if indeed they address the support question in a timely manner... which is not often the case) Wow... so we get 12 months of support from purchase date with a flawed program...that is just another slap in the face.....fix the 4 or more "current bugs" and then perhaps12 month support ( although most companies offer support for their products in a much more generous way)
Another step backward imo.SMH
I"m amazed that you can still make music with such a deeply flawed and bug-ridden software!

this is the new normal. Get used to it.
What a nice attitude.

"Hey farmers, from now on all your produce is collected by the state and goes to a central depot"

"Do we get to keep any to eat for ourselves?"

"No. Every grain is to be deposited"

"That doesn't sound fair"

"This is the new normal. Get used to it"

12 months of support for Reason is laughable. You'd think just owning a license for the current version would entitle you to support access...

Again, a tone deaf music company really isn't playing well to the professional crowd.

And yet it's been that way for many, many years - as well as many other DAW. I didn't see you complaining then. Why now? Ah, because comparing a completely optional sub service to some fantasy Marxist socialist nightmare is a great comparison. Got it.

Following this release history, if i bought each new version on release day, was support immediately cut off at day 366 between versions:

??

No. I don't think so. So why the obscurantism? What's your game?

Obscurantism? Lmao - try again, man. My point was RS (Propellerhead then) has offered "only" 1 year - that's 12 months - of support for well over a decade for perpetual licenses. You're pretending that the introduction of Reason+ (offering support as long as you sub) compared to perpetual licenses only offering 12 months of support is a new thing or never existed. That's patently false, and the fact that people are making it a thing right now proves how laughably how out of touch people are with reality.

Fun fact sprinkles: you only got 12 months of support if you bought a Reason upgrade in the past, or a full version. It's been that way for over a decade.

Good grief.

Debate and argue with respect. For pete's sake, it's a FORUM. Not sprinkles-pity-party.

So we have the voting with nearly 400 people who will not use the subscription ( aprox 80% ).
Is there anybody from "Reason Studio employee" in this Forum and has a statement to that ?
Dont want search all 2200 Posts....

I think, Reason Studios are a bit guilty on all those reactions and have to give us a statement back .

I have a friend that's even considering coming back to Reason because of Reason+. I think that most people here are out of touch with reality and don't realize that many people have actually been waiting for this, like myself.
