Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+
I can't stand looking at my forever and useless closed 'tutorial' tab.

You can completely hide that. I think it's from the Options menu?
You can hide it under "Windows" --> "Hide/show tutorial"
No such option in windows, unfortunately.
The menu bar colors can be changed as well, I just didn't make the time to do that, it is a bit tricky. Adding up the wasted space is not quite relevant, it just takes away a fixed portion of a display.EdwardKiy wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021I don't know how you made the top bar dark, but there is still a searing white bar in-between. And this is still not fullscreen just maximized windowed mode. Your setup has 6 bars of wasted space at the top (x2 for mixer, x2 for sequencer and x2 for the rack tab that you now have as separate).
Well that's to collapse it. The separate option to 'always show tutorial window' is found under the 'options' menu (unless it's different on Windows). It's not very intuitive for sure.
GONE! Thanks all!

Oh I suppose I meant to say "Mission Control". I guess it hasn't been "exposé" for a long time.Billy+ wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021You mean the virtual workspaces, joeyluck wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021On macOS, fullscreen mode is not just about making it take up the full screen. It does away with window bars, but it is also a part of managing workspaces. So I can put the Rack, Mixer, and Sequencer all in separate fullscreens and then swipe left/right with three fingers to switch screens. I can also swipe up to enter exposé and then choose the window from there (just the same as if I wasn't in fullscreen mode).
I don't understand what is described as "forced fullscreen" because Reason alone can't do what macOS can do, so I'm not sure of the benefit of fullscreen mode outside of those macOS type features.

So out of curiosity, does Windows have fullscreen mode for Reason+ Companion like on macOS?
Tbf I don't use this option, never really been that worried about it, when I'm working in the rack I max it, when I'm in the sequencer I max that and when I'm in the mixer guess what....... I max that.
But I guess it's annoying having to scroll or keep moving back and forth when you're in the groove for some, I personally find the lack of midi routing more of a distraction but each to their own.
Well you can't fully "max" out without going into fullscreenBilly+ wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021Tbf I don't use this option, never really been that worried about it, when I'm working in the rack I max it, when I'm in the sequencer I max that and when I'm in the mixer guess what....... I max that.

I only use that approach from time to time for really big projects. Otherwise, I usually leave everything attached.
One of the things I like about the Mixer when detached, is that the fader section remains in place when scrolling the channels vertically. I wish there was an option for that behavior when the Mixer is attached. And I also wish the mixer was at the bottom or the right when attached...
Not that it will make it full screen, but could you please share how you changed the colours?
Nice bit of product placement
Current 6 if anyone wants a listen.

No joke intended - I was genuinely curious as to what you were complaining about. Ok, I see what you mean - and honestly, I think I complained about this myself once upon a time.EdwardKiy wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021I've gotten quite bad at detecting sarcasm lately... so in case you are joking, I apologize in advance.EnochLight wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021How would this make Reason (standalone DAW) a better experience? Truly curious, because if I’m missing something - I’ll totally add it to my mile long list of feature requests that I have.
Having a border that is, without any hyperbole, a windows '95 gimmick around a movie screen at a cinema would piss you off even in 1995. It would piss you off in a computer game. And that's just entertainment. Now, a Digital Audio WORK-station is something people spend their lives with on a daily basis - it's a work tool. Do you think it should be less or more optimized to be distraction-free, than something that is literally a distraction?
Internet browsers don't need a full screen mode, and yet they've had an F11 option for decade(s), JUST IN CASE someone works there and needs that functionality.
To reverse your question, how does having a windows '95 gimmick (white) border around your (dark-themed) DAW make it a better experience? Just curious.
Here's an illustration I've made months ago for a feature request thread.

I totally forgot it was a “thing”, as the wasted space really didn’t rank high on my list of “things Reason desperately needs fixed”. But I’d certainly like to have it, especially seeing as how I certainly want a true Dark Theme and without proper full screen support, we’ll never get it on Windows.
Maybe the upcoming high res GUI/UX support and GPU support will make this a reality? Let’s hope! The feature request is officially back on my list of wants as well (though it still remains pretty low for me).

Thanks so much! That's been bugging me for ages. I can't stand DAW clutter.
Is there any way to hide the 'Showcase'?
It is currently being tested
What do you mean? 'Showcase' as in the favorites list?colonel_mustard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021Thanks so much! That's been bugging me for ages. I can't stand DAW clutter.

Well it's only been a few days. I wouldn't rule out other bug fixes, but it also has to be tested thoroughly to make sure that other bugs aren't introduced.

Yes, exactly - it's something I'd hide, if I could. The "Rename/Delete" options are greyed out on Mac.joeyluck wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021What do you mean? 'Showcase' as in the favorites list?colonel_mustard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021

That I am unsure about.colonel_mustard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021Yes, exactly - it's something I'd hide, if I could. The "Rename/Delete" options are greyed out on Mac.
Even after I navigate to:
Users > username > Library > Application Support > Propellerhead Software > Reason
And delete the .favo from there, Reason creates it again at startup. Not sure if there is a way to prevent that.

Yes, I think I went through that same routine the last time I was having a clearout.joeyluck wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021That I am unsure about.colonel_mustard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021

Thanks for looking, anyway

Hate to resurrect this thread, but the wasted space (while not really pissing me off as I just focus on what I can see), is always blocking the Mix Channel in the Rack when I click/double click the track header in the sequencer!EnochLight wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021No joke intended - I was genuinely curious as to what you were complaining about. I am constantly scrolling the Rack down afterwards to access the pan, volume etc...it's always hidden just behind the bar.
Or is there a way to see the mixer channel as well as device on sequencer track header click that I'm not aware of?

The wasted space and lack of user customizability of the layout drives me nuts. Get rid of all those 2000-pixel-long 10-pixel-wide tabs that do nothing except say "browser" or "sequencer" and let us put any window in any part of the screen, at any size, docked or floating!!!
Controversial opinion; get rid of the "wood" from the sides of the rack -or at least make it an option. it looks cheesy and stupid, and it just wastes space. The rack instruments look much better without it anyway.
Also un-dock the browser from the left of the rack ffs, and allow the rack to be placed in a top-to-bottom window to the left of the sequencer and the mixer, both in horizontal mode. Forcing users to have a horizontal rack window in docked mode is completely nonsense.
Plenty of other audio and video tools have already solved the flexible layout problem, you would think Reason with its catchy graphic design should be leading the field, but no...
