More Reason users because of all the free Reason Lites that went out, and more people using "Reason" in the form of the RRP, not necessarily the DAW, plus the high sales record could be as low as $1 more than the last sales record, technically. So, show me the numbers, Niklas.
Did you catch Ernst ferk your wife? Or Maybe it was Pelle shitting on your doorstep? Perhaps some random Swede was caught having a wank on your grandmothers grave?

Why are you so determined to talk down the Props/RS at every turn? This is a consistent and unbalanced hatred which has always been entirely without founding; it has always been completely lacking in any evidence, and always full of vitriolic doom, and has been going on for over a year now, at least.

In other words, what the ferk is your problem?
Wow - sounds like YOU'RE the one with the problem, pal.

After all these years Urs is still bitter. Let it go man, let it go. Congrats to RS.

As per Urs: 10% increase in U-he user base last year; and a 5% user base increase in the first two days of the current NI deal and "NI approached us again - because the first sale was spectacular" . So it's ok for U-he boasts on KVR of their successful year(s), but Reason Studios tweets the same and Urs rolls his eyes. Sour grapes over in u-hee land. Urs definitely has a bee in his bonnet about RS/Propellerhead.

Yeah, that's a bit messed up. Seems to be a double-standard.

The big difference is, Urs was merely responding to specific doom-and-gloom speculation on KVR, whereas Reason Studios' VC CEO, made a grand, unprovoked New Year's Twitter Proclamation. If you are unable to read between the lines, then I hope you won't be surprised when Apple acquires Reason Studios later this year.

https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... 0#p7976310

"Just to preempt any speculation:

Planning this deal started well before Covid hit. Negotiations were hard, but like Feb 2019, passing on a tap into NI's customer database would have been insane. The fact that NI approached us again - because the first sale was spectacular - and do this in their prime slot (x-mas...) is a *good* sign.

Covid so far is merely neutral for us. We're neither in the category of "300% more revenue" (as some companies are), nor do we see any decline in sales. In general I'd say sales are up by a bit, but possibly well within the margin of annual growth we have anyway."

Did you notice the RS web site don’t « advertise » 3rd parties REs anymore (I’ve found them only in the shop) ?

Where have you been? There are literally doom and gloom posts about Reason Studios all. of. the. time. Nahhhh, it's a double-standard, man. Plain and simple. Again, I think Urs is a swell person, but this reeks of double-standard IMHO.

Seems I hit the nail on the head. It’s unfortunate, but hopefully things improve. That NI deal should definitely get them a few purchases.
Wait wait wait - hold up - U-he are not in trouble. The last NI sale before this one was so successful that it afforded them the luxury to sit back and "relax" and take things as they come. He even said so in a KVR thread. In addition, the global pandemic slowed development times down, so some things have been delayed (like the Uhbiks and Zebra 3). Losing two key developers plus releasing and supporting their CVilization hardware has also stretched them a bit thin. But they've hired new developers and are bringing them up to speed, with Urs taking a more active role in development. Urs doesn't need to come out and boast about his successful year because he doesn't need to. Reason Studios on the other hand...
Having a less than stellar year doesn’t equate to “in trouble”. But losing core developers is quite a setback. Regardless, throwing shade at someone announcing their success will always come off as hate. As far as Reason Studios “needing” to boast about success, the tweet came from Niklas’ personal Twitter account (his tweets are mostly personal), not Reason Studio’s. Why shouldn’t he have a reason to celebrate RS having their best year in his 2nd year as CEO? Sounds normal to me. I’d likely have done the same.

I totally agree. I would have done the same. I probably would have issued a press release and organized a small parade in my honor. Good on Niklas for being so humble, really; he should be proud of what he has accomplished. It always gets me the amount of venom and hate there is out there. I just hate it and want to spit venom at it. Here's to another 20 years of success for RS!

It's okay when I do it, not we the CEO of the competition does it in their personal account.

🙄

They can do it when responding to doom and gloom, but when I and many others spew doom and gloom all the time about RS, RS or anyone involved in the company cannot ever say anything.

🙄

😂

There once was a time when Reason Studios Fka Propellerhead Inc. didn't have to tell the world how great it was. Their customers did the talking. It's a given when someone starts telling you how great they are is really a sign of desperation.

Congrats to that, props! (or Reason Studio peeps). Pretty sure RRP had this turn, and like someone mentioned... hard to say when there are no actual numbers or facts. But hey, if they keep up what they are doing and are happy in return. Good! Cheers to Reason - it is the 'daw' that keeps me going and - like it seems - a lot of others.

As soon as you could use 3rd party vsts record vocals and guitar reason became a serious tool to have - I’ve been tempted to try other daws but couldn’t see the benefit - old days wired reason to sonar but now ... maybe logic but then it’s yet another daw to learn or aberton?

As someone who purchased the upgrade to Reason Suite 11 (from 10) recently, and paid even more to purchase the full U-he sale load from NI - I hope both companies continue to do great so we get awesome new products to enjoy.

Uhe seems like a smallish operation where I’ve had no going concern, and they never do sales which shows me they don’t need to. That’s why I pulled the trigger so fast on their NI sale to buy every product on sale. I pretty much only buy music software on sale or I wait for a sale because I have more stuff than I need.

Reason on the other hand has way more overhead, but the RRP was brilliant. What a genius way to grow the user base by adding people that don’t want to learn a new daw but have the option in addition to great instruments and FX with a workflow many prefer (I personally prefer using it in Live). Intro is also smart to add new users, and I even gave a copy of intro away for a family member over the holiday sale.

What you read on forum places on how company is standing usually is nothing like in real world. Actually I will go so far as to tell that 99.9999% of the time - it's nothing like in real world. It's a pure guess. Forum is not at all representative picture of how company is doing.

So forum opinions from online forum "couch product experts" should be taken with a big big chunk of salt.

And the same is true from CEO public announcements. It is "marketing" to keep shareholders, specialist/financial press and associated 3rd-party companies happy. Giving those that read it a warm feeling that they are all part of something successful.

Whereas... in the real world... tomorrow Reason Studios could go bust or alternatively become the largest company on the planet, and that fact has little to do with annual marketing statements from CEO's.

Except that the post in question was from the CEO's personal account, not on Reason Studio's. Jesus, even I boast about a great day I'm having sometimes in my personal social networking channels. I can assure you I'm not making it up.

Oh c'moooooooooon. When a CEO posts about the supposed success of a product he is personally in charge of, it is never a personal post, ESPECIALLY when that post is posted on a very public platform.

He could have just written it on a sticky note and left it on the fridge for just him and his wife to see - that would qualify as a personal post.
