Instrument volume very low after VST

Hi guys, I have Reason 10 and I installed the Arturia mini v3 Now I cant (barely) hear anything else I play, redrum etc.. the Miniv's volume is fine everything else is unusable? any help greatly appreciated (Legit Miniv 3)

The VSTs are normally too loud, often clipping or peaking 0db. Reason is normally peaking at -12db. Check, if this is the difference.

Thanks mate, but no I'm a Reason user from 2.5, If I have drums bassline etc running, when I launch Miniv fine.. when I start playing it everything goes down about 90% volume. Again legit Arturia product. ... bugger

Master Compressor or something like this going on? Does it go back to normal loudness after a while when you stop playing the Mini?

Try turning down the vst. Sounds like it is very loud like Loque said. Strange though, has never happened to me.

Thanks guys, it ain't that, checked. Reason couldn't find the VST in the first place, I manually added it, Guees there's no quick fix uninstall the vst.
Try again, its not a volume prob, It's more a communication prob between the miniv an Reason.

How did you add the vst to the reason project if Reason didn't find the vst? This is confusing.

I manually added it in the advanced section in "Preferences" .. I'm stumped on this tbh

I uninstalled the VST, re installed Reason 10 without the VST and now lol , the volume of all instruments is about 10%, redrum for example the little vol knob is constantly flicking down at zero???? I have a Ryzen threadripper machine it was fine before I bought the VST on Sat night...FCking baffled here folks..

What you on about Paul? Where is the knob at zero? Can't you turn up the knob then?

No man, its sticking to zero in a flicking option, mouse can't move it. never happened in 20 years of Reason for me.

Are you on Windows or Mac? On Mac there are several problems with the UI.

I'm on windows, there is no prob with the computer it,s just used as a studio pc. tried everything, will pay for the 129e upgrade to 11 see if that fixes it.

Sounds exactly like a controller sending out errant MIDI date to the volume know. Switch focus to a different device and see if the knob can be adjusted. If so you many need to "exercise" all the knobs of any controller hooked up to Reason…

Just posted but didn't come up, I messed with all the knobs an sliders on midi controller and fixed!!! Thanks a million for the replies and help guys, I remember we had a great community on props site, no idea why they took the user forums off. Thanks again!
