Redrum + DDL-1, The note I hit is not heard, only the result from the effect.

I have a Redrum below a mixer channel.
The mixer channel handles the output of the ReDrum (Redrum Stereo Out connected to MixerChannel Input Left/Right)

This works.

When I hit my first pad on my midi keyboard (Panorama P6), I hear the Kick.

Next thing I want is to have a DDL-1 on the ReDrum.
Dependant on where you drag the DDL-1 onto, different connections are made.

Option 1:
- Drag DDL-1 onto the ReDrum
Result is Output of ReDrum goes to DDL-1, and DDL-1 Output goes to MixerChannel Input.
Option 2:
- Drag DDL-1 onto the MixerChannel
Result is connection of ReDrum is unchanged (Stereo Out to Mixer Input)
And DDL-1 is connected to the mixer via "Insert FX", ToDevice and FromDevice (4 cables in total)

Both options give the same effect:
When I hit a pad on the MidiKeyboard, I only hear the effect, not the original hit I do.
It sounds like the ReDrum sound is ignored and only the Effect sound is passed through.


Undoubtfully a very very noob question/problem (sorry for that), but I've googled for more than 3 hours now and looked and more than 10 different video's and they all look the same as my setup, and they don't have the problem.

What's wrong with my setup?

I think, you want to have the DDL-1 wired as a send effect. (Have a look in the well written Reason manual on this kind of effect set-up.)

Turn the wet/dry on the delay maybe? If it’s on full wet you’ll only hear the effect.

^^This I guess as the DDL1 is at 100% wet by default.
