how to record combinators

i've been playing with some new beatmap combis and i can't figure out how to record them. i use the pencil tool and draw a line to record with like i do with octo rex, but it doesn't work. i then hit bounce to clip and nothing! any help? ideas? thanks.

Is it a run combinator? View devices and find whatever sequencer is driving stuff. Automate the run in that device. Then you can draw in a lane .

Automate them both.

If it’s an instrument combinator that you can play with your keyboard it’ll record exactly the same way as any other instrument. If it’s a combi with sequencers you need to automate each sequencer within the combinator. I still can’t understand why they didn’t just make the run button in the combinator automatable. I’m sure I read somewhere that there’s a reason for it.

If you mean record the combinator as audio you cant record the combinator out right directly, but you can record the mix channel the combinator is hooked to via rec source button.

could someone show me how to record a combinator? i have tried to learn how to automate each device, but it doesnt seem to work. i want to record one of the combinators in beatmap. is there a video or tutorial? thank you.
