yeah, saw some of that where it sounded like it was talking about automatically quantizing stuff as it’s being recorded. kind of blown away at that point.

I would copy paste the ghost parts first, and replace them with "solid" parts only when needed. It was cool to edit the main parts, and have all the ghost parts updated at once. I think I started to use ghost parts at first to save up space on floppies.mcatalao wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020I used arrangement windows in Cubase which is similar to blocks. But I've never had much love for ghost parts but what I really miss is auto punch in. It is on the other daws because it's useful, and if the design doesn't let it in the there's something to be reviewed in the design. IMHO of course.
Now I remember why I loved how tiny Reason files used to be.

True. You're right.guitfnky wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020meh, they’ve given us a ton of shiny new toys in 10-11. unless you’re content using Reason as a plugin in another DAW (I’m not), there is nothing more pressing than getting Reason up to modern-DAW standards. IMO, of course.Creativemind wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020
Yes and no in some ways as we need basic functionality in lots of areas but we also do need shiny things like an updated Thor, NN-XT or Combinator as well. I just wish they'd give us more in updates because 11 was very light imo (some of 11's features were basic functionality weren't they that should've just been thrown in as an extra, not as a feature highlight) and they didn't fully finish the things they did implement such as no multiple curves for the crossfades or automation? no drawable automation etc

Haha!mcatalao wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020Hehe... Pretty much the same list. And a bigger combinator on the rack and mixer (the insert combinator). And Auto Punch in. I'll never shut up about auto punch in. Until I die or we get it. Whatever comes first and I hope we get it WAAAAAAYYYYY before I die!!!lesselfortium wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020Thanks for doing this. Filled out the survey and my wishlist for smarter mixer/sequencer/rack organization (with folders!), track presets to save and recall groups of tracks with their mixer channels, and macros.
Hehe!
Can't remember on here who said it but someone said they were asking for ganged faders for so long, when they started they had hair and by the time it was implemented they were bald (or was it they'd gone grey?) either way it made me proper lol!

Filled it out, but decided to leave the comment section blank. I figured the automatic intoxication to complete song option was a bit much to ask!

I filled the survey, but didn't submit when I reached the last page. Because after reconsidering my previous answers, I didn't feel to be the target audience of Reason. And I didn't want to derail the survey - left it to people more dedicated to Reason.

Wrong decision, IMO. The purpose of such survey is to see how the user base uses Reason. If there's many users like you, then perhaps they'd be willing to push the software into that direction. They won't even know it's something users want, if they don't make their voice heard

Please fill it in anyway! There's not just one target audience and we want to hear from everyone

Really dam guys Reason Studio is located in Sweden and I don't get the option to choose Faroe Islands as my home country in the survey. I would understand if it was an American survey but vikings forgetting vikings

Just be sure to deselect EVERYTHING before using this trick, something I finally figured out after years of "doing it wrong"!Jackjackdaw wrote: ↑16 Sep 2020This is a very cool trick I wasn't aware of. However, how do you deselect once selected? I'm just getting selection upon selection that seems to be stuck selected

Anyone got -15% discount coupon at the end of the survey? When I did it yesterday I followed the link from Twitter and it wasn't there (I think). Today I've got email from RS which says there's coupon at the end.

instead of a feature request list I have just written in the end that if they switch to a subscription only model, I will stop using reason....
(there was this one question about subscription services, very suspicious)

I personally would like the option of being able to go the subscription route or the current way. As a hobbyist I can't always justify upgrading or even outright buying software but can swing a low monthly subscription. For some people the subscription route works and for other's it doesn't, both ways would be a good compromise.

there are two surveys, one that we receive by email and which at the end gives a 15% promo code and the MattiasHG survey which are two different surveys

Ahh I see. Is the e-mail one sent to you after you complete the one on here after they asked if it was ok to contact you and you put your e-mail address in?
