RS seem to sell most of VSTs at a considerable premium price compared to other shops. Maybe Waves will be $49 at RS but $29 at Waves?
But hey, I'll take free any day, if I can get some use from it.

I often wonder if it’s the Refill/ VST developer who decides the price. It must be. In which case I can only surmise that they adjust the price that they charge on their own websites so that when RS takes their cut it evens out financially.Boombastix wrote: ↑22 Aug 2020RS seem to sell most of VSTs at a considerable premium price compared to other shops. I have a feeling PiB, JRR et al also takes a cut, so there is some additional reason (no not Reason, just reason...)MrFigg wrote: ↑22 Aug 2020I often wonder if it’s the Refill/ VST developer who decides the price. Thanks for the heads up. Just got it and when i went to install and activate i got the same permissions error that it took me a year to get squared away with the other waves plugins i purchased when they went from ver 10 to 11 of waves central. Waves support staff was pathetic when i had that issue. Now i have to remember what i did to rectify that debacle. It had nothing to do with what troubleshooting advice pops up on waves or given to me by their support staff. Thank god it cost me nothing this time around.

I have collected 9 free Waves plugins, all v11. Using them on Reason 10.4 and Windows 10. Easy to install, never any issues.
Probably helpful if those who have problems state their versions etc, seems to be issues and misunderstandings using v11 combining with V10/9 etc... Not sure if Mac users have more issues or not.

I still don't understand the point of Reason Studios selling third-party VSTs if they don't use Authorizer.
Giveaway aside, if a plugin were the same price at the RS shop and at the VST developer's site, why would anyone buy it through RS when you need an account at the developer's site to activate it anyway?

I guess Vst developers think of RS shop as an additional place for advertising their plugins, concretely for Reason customers. Some sort of the expansion of the customer basefieldframe wrote: ↑22 Aug 2020I still don't understand the point of Reason Studios selling third-party VSTs if they don't use Authorizer.

Running El Capitan, so my understanding is v11 won't work, and there is no work around other than OS upgrade which I'm reluctant to do at the moment.Boombastix wrote: ↑22 Aug 2020I have collected 9 free Waves plugins, all v11. There are very few VSTs that I’m willing to install.
This is not one of them...
