Hmm I'm curious to know what Reason Studios device that is that's blurred out at 1:40. Something new in the works?

It comes after Complex and before Layers, so it starts with anything between those names, and that rules out Combinator 2/Super Combinator, Subtractor 2/Super Subtractor or NNXT 2.

Oh there is something there, but I'm guessing something Ryan forget and someone just fudged over.

Can someone feed a AI with this picture and see what it reconstructs? Maybe it's just a photo of a cat.

Is the device on the bottom right of this screencap the one that was blurred out?

No sign of it in the shop. Could indeed be a duplicate they forgot to blur

Lolll to that! Somewhat seriously, what reverse algo or whatever ML could you run to de-pixelate that? I'm very novice at ML and GANS so idk what's possible already or not.

Look at 1:12 though in the RRP instrument grid view (if you will) there is a big instrument there called Friktion. Of course fitting the alphabetical clue as well. We're through the looking glass here people. edit: bolded

Always good to get a glimpse of future products. It's obviously an instrument of some type but what sort is anyones guess.

Friktion...I'm guessing a physical modelling string deal

Feel free to speculate. Friktion is not a Factory Device, but something you have to buy extra. What synthesis can be behind the name Friktion? I don't know. The video frame don't carry much info either. Friction on strings, like some AAS type device? Not much repetition in the picture so unlikely a VA synth with several oscillators. And if they already have VA/Granular/Rompler/Additive/Wavetable, guess it could be physical modeling or some time stretchy spectrum thing, though that might just go too far. They video clearly talks about a beat making focus, and using other DAWs. So an 808 booom box maybe, lol?

I just hope they don't put all their resources on devices when the sequencer needs a big overhaul, but then I might not be the target customer for them anyhow. I have more synths and FX then what i can use, I am slowly migrating over to Cubase. But hey, maybe they surprise us all, and I feel like spending money on an upgrade...

This is only me thinking out loud but I wondered if perhaps it would be free to reason 11 users, I only think that as it appears on the rrp with other stock devices. I have rrp/reason 11 and am not aware if you can get it to show devices of your choice when it loads (like image above). If you cannot then it may point to this as being stock in 11 (rrp lite users will probably be able to buy it separately too). Purely speculation on my part though.

Well spotted there.

It's called Conpinator and is a new Combinator.

It doesn’t show in the category of stock devices. This indicates that it will be sold separately in the Shop.

Ah yes, it would appear you are right and it will not be free.

Friktion? Maybe a sound design tool for making sandstone grinder like sounds.

Makes you wonder what other unknown instruments and fx props employees have access to. Probably a whole stack of REs in development or even things that never saw the light of day.

Not to be greedy, but I wonder if such a device might be included in 11 suite packages... an update for suite users? Probably not.
