I am using Sonar Platinum as my DAW for audio and video editing. But I want the soft synth sounds of Reason. Which version do you recommend for me to buy, Reason 10 0r 11 to rewire to Sonar Platinum?

Reason 11 does not support Rewire, presumably due to incompatibility with macOS, so if you must use it you only have the option of Reason 10.

Reason 11 gives you the rack as a VST3 plugin so you can get the sounds you want in Sonar without the hassle (allegedly).

You need Reason 10 but can you still buy it?

I think they discontinued Rewire in 11 because having Reason available as a VST renders Rewire redundant in most typical use cases.

Does Sonar support vst3? It's pretty old now, presuming the op hasn't moved to Cakewalk by Bandlab.

I was under the impression you could dload older versions of Reason with a current license. I may be wrong.

I'm in two minds about the RRP, it's way more convenient than Rewire but you can't use existing projects with it. I think there is still a case to be made for using rewire.

Only if you owned a particular version at some point. So if you upgraded from, say, 9 to 11 those are the only versions you can run. You can't run 10, which I think is a shame.

You can buy the Intro or regular version. 499 is the "Suite" version, which includes more devices.

Intro is a bargain you get most of the best stock synths and a bunch of other good stuff and you can buy more extensions or upgrades later if you get into it.
