I've started getting messages when I open a new song that XYZ instrument or effect is not loaded, even though I've used them for years.

So I go to the reason website, sync all, and basically 3/4 of my products begin loading. Even the loading is not working right, it shows 20+ instruments "Installing" but then it get stuck in that position. Also have gotten a number of "error" messages.

I contacted support yesterday but as usual have no heard back.

I am thinking about just deleting Reason and reloading everything.

Already deleted Authorizer and reloaded it.

Any other ideas?

After deleting and reinstalling the authorizer, then reloading all RE's again, I still got this error message and the RE's were once again not installed.

I could wait for support to get back to me, or I could delete everything Reason and reinstall fresh?

Thoughts?

Have you tried deleting the res?

I've never seen any of these errors 😱

What version of reason are you running?

Did this happen after you purchased / updated a rack extension?

Did this start to happen after you installed the latest update?

I did not happen after either installing a new refill nor after an update.

I am using Reason 10. I've been using Reason since version 3.

What version of Reason are you using? Clearly it looks like it’s hung up on the new Red Rock Sound update to RE200. Maybe the new version isn’t compatible with an older version of Reason and whatever SDK it’s using.

* edit * - just saw above you are using R10. I would try and remove / delete RE200 RE if possible.

The initial error looks to involve a new rack extension

https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... -enhancer/

Released: 2020-07-17

I would remove that first.

And check that your using the lastest authorizer

I deleted the authorizer and reloaded it.

As far as removing a refill that's fine but it will just reload when I sync. I have to sync because I have lost 3/4's of my refills...right?

So I tried deleting the 200 Bass enhancer from the authoriser and it won't let me. It says "file or directory is locked".

This could possibly be related to a hard disk failure?

OK so even if the hard drive is working, maybe a section of it became corrupt?

Perhaps? I'm just thinking, cause this isn't normal behaviour at all, you know?

Correct, this is possible.

That said, worldwide - servers have been having trouble since Friday night due to a Cloudflare failure:

https://gizmodo.com/this-is-why-half-th ... 1844425114

It's possible whereever you are in the world, your connection to the authentication server might be having trouble. Anyway, have you also tried deleting your RE license file and re-syncing as well?

On Windows, it's located at:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Propellerhead Software\RackExtensions

Find all files ending in *.cache and *.part and delete these. Then re-sync.

Note: you may need to have "show hidden files, folders, and drives" checked off under File Explorer Options.

Very interesting point, and this isn't the only person with a similar situation.

And the last time I received an actual error notification in browser the main reason site was on cloudflare! Not sure if it still is or if the authentication system uses the same service.

There isn't any support statements on reason support section.

---Edit---

Not sure how good the site is but, no is the answer?

It looks like the checker isn't that good. I managed to find an id and IP's?

I have a Mac so I would guess a different location.

I am not having any issue logging in, in fact it downloads the missing RE's but when it's done downloading they simply are missing again.

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/RackExtensions

Also, this sticky for locations is a helpful guide:

Has anyone else updated the Red Rock RE and installed it successfully on Reason 10?

Looks like what you’re experiencing is completely different than the OP. Yours is simply an RE that crashed. The OP has RE’s that literally got corrupted (possibly due to disc failure), so they won’t even load.

As others said, It seems to me this issue is related to hdd failure.

You can still work with the hdd, but you probably have some bad sectors (pretty common in mechanic hd's).

To solve the issue, you must first force the file to be rewritten, something that might not be happening because Re-Sycing your account only replaces new versions. Start by deleting the file in your os. On a windows you could force a diskcheck but on a mac i don't know of something simmilar. New hdds and ssd's auto- remap blocks on failed writes, so making sure you delete the correct file, should solve the issue.

Can you make a s.m.a.r.t. test to the drive? If you have realocated blocks you might consider backing up your hdd and find a substitute to it.

Good Luck!

I think you are correct. I was having issues anyway with occasional crashing and beach balling. I wiped the drive and reinstalled the OS and so far everything is doing OK.

My thanks to everyone who reached out with suggestions.

Emailed Reason Support Friday and still have not heard anything back except for their robot acknowledgement of the contact. Pretty sad when I have spent so many thousands of dollars over the years.
