I am currently happily using Reason V10.4

I have just got round to looking at the free software bundle I received with my last Korg product.

As well as a lot of free software / synths etc I notice I am entitled to a free version of Reason Lite...

Looks like Reason Lite is V10.1.2; would it count as an upgradable version?

(I have not registered it yet so I was thinking could I give it to some one?)

I can confirm: no, it is not!

I had the same idea, so I gave it a try and registered one of my numerous Lite licenses. But it is not eligible for an upgrade to R11 Lite.

Probably the name indicates the problem: the freebies are „Lite“ while the smallest current package is „Intro“. So, unfortunately no match.

That's a shame. I have been using Ableton Lite since V2, nearly 20 years with free upgrades to the latest version and a discount if I ever want to buy the full version.

It is a gift with the purchase of equipment.
Nevertheless, you can upgrade to full version 11.
Given the fact that the version Lite 10 you got as a gift, it is an advantageous offer. During sales, the full version cost $ 178 at JRRShop.
Oh well, probably I shouldn't reply, but here we go:

1. I have a full license of R10, so I know the "usual" upgrade paths quite well.
2. I was looking for the lowest possible option to get the "VST" wrapper for my RE's since I missed the sale end 2019 ($49 for Intro)
3. Other "gifts" such as Ableton Lite (which I also registered btw) are very well fully upgradeable. So it's not unusual.

However, that's the way it is. And nothing to add from my side.

2. Reason 11 Lite as well as 10 Lite does not have a Rack plugin. It is almost identical version.
Please point me to Reason 11 Lite?

Reason Lite is the one given away with stuff and does not include the rack plugin.
Reason Intro is the entry-level paid product from RS and does include the rack plugin.
There is no upgrade path from Lite to Intro. You just have to buy Intro if you want it.

I've just bought a license for reason 11 lite today to try it out and loving it so far. I wanted to see about upgrading to intro for the extra tracks and use it as vst plugin but seems I can't do that which is a shame as I don't need more than intro. Just as a note you can use your vst's in reason 11 lite.
