[Some] May Madness Reason price reductions hit the store
Just noticed that there have been some price reductions on Reason in the store but NOT on everything. We'll have to wait and see if this is the full extent of the May madness sale or if, like other years, they stagger the offers to keep May madness fresh. Anyway at present the reductions are as follows;
Reason 11 Suite from $599.00 to $499.00
Reason 11 Suite Upgrade from $249.00 to $199
Reason 11 from $399.00 to $299.00
Reason 11 Upgrade for Intro/Lite from $299.00 to $199.00
No reductions on the Reason 11 upgrade for Reason 1-10 atm unfortunately or on any of the Rigs bundles or the Player Device Bundle
Will the suite upgrade reduction of - $50 tempt anyone to pull the trigger?

Also just noticed that on the Reason 11 Suite Upgrade it states that the sale ends on May 10th, so it's only on for 5 days! It doesn't seem to have that time limit on any of the other sale prices. This could mean something or nothing about a regular Reason upgrade sale this month of course, but if you want the suite upgrade this maybe the best time to buy before Black Friday

Man, they really don't want to put the R11 upgrade on sale for us long terms users do they!?
The prices are much lower in JRRShop (If you apply the code FORUM or GROUP at checkout) - For example the suite upgrade goes to $179

I just checked and that's what it showed in the cart without entering a coupon code. I can't imagine the suite deal getting any...sweeter than that lolrcube wrote: ↑05 May 2020The prices are much lower in JRRShop (If you apply the code FORUM or GROUP at checkout) - For example the suite upgrade goes to $179

They might add sales tax for customers from Europe? I don’t have account there yet so couldn’t check it.joeyluck wrote: ↑05 May 2020I just checked and that's what it showed in the cart without entering a coupon code. 11.3 gave AAX support and a list of bug fixes, still it is called 11.3. I was expecting at least something to be added, or it would be just called 11.25. Nothing new to justify a new number. Kind of makes the R12 "around the corner" - thought even stronger.
Slightly unusual question but here goes. I currently run 10 as my old PowerMac won't take an OS higher than 10.7 (Lion). I will be getting a new iMac soonish, but not just yet. Can I buy the Suite upgrade now to benefit from the discount (have done the math and for me the extra REs are worth it) but not install it (because I can't on that machine)
but...
Still access the extra RE's I bought as part of the Suite upgrade and run them on 10 for now?
Not sure at what point those RE's become visible on my account. Would I have to Install and register 11 on at least one computer first, which might be an issue? Or do I automatically see (e.g. PolyStep) then and can download/sync from my account page? I have a 2018 MacBook Pro which is my work machine, and I could temporarily install it on there, but don't want to accidentally mess up any permissions as to what my registered computer is in the process!
Or just not bother for now as 12 might be right around the corner and I'll only be paying again for that shortly?!

No, it doesn't. The beauty of JRR is they charge us Europeans the same number (say 199) but instead of EUR it's in USD. So for upgrade from 11 Standard to Suite it's a saving of 15EUR on currency difference alone, not to mention another 25$ difference vs. Reason shop

I don't expect 12 to be sooner than by the tail-end of the year, especially if they plan GUI rework in there. So depends how much valuable is for you using the new version for the coming 6 months
Well, do the math. Around the corner comment meant not before summer, but rather in August/September/October/November. More likely Oct/Nov. So in that sense, it means around 6+ months time.Electric-Metal wrote: ↑05 May 2020Go for it. 12 is anything but "around the corner".
Those comments are plain BS Imho.
If that is a time span that one really get good use of the upgrade and in case of Suite, the REs, then it will be worth it.
If one could do fine with R10 til that, and money is an important issue, it could be wise to have patience.
Good luck with the upgrade of comouter.
My maffff: big (relatively) point update in late Q3/Early Q4 and version 12 in late Q1/early Q2 of 2021.Yonatan wrote: ↑05 May 2020Well, do the math. But the nearly $100 off on regular prices shows that if R12 is suddenly being released within less than 6 months, people still dont have to feel ripped.
Maybe R11 Standard upgrade will be reduced later in May, chances are bigger that some R10 users might become a little bit frustrated if R12 comes sooner than expected. So with all that in mind, it might be easier to make a sane decision, prepared that in 6 months + - a new version could appear. But as always, one might not need to upgrade to R12 straight away anyway, so just keep calm if 11 Suite REs might bring one lot of joy in the meantime. Worth can be very subjective for all of us. I am not sure what to do myself yet. Good luck!
Question is, which will feature high-res interface? My guess would be version 12.
Well I saw the $179 Suite deal on JRRshop and as always the “sale panic” got a hold of me. Took a breath and wrote down what stuff I didn’t have. Best thing I could’ve done. Once it was on paper in front of me it was easier to see that I don’t need any of the added functionality and I’ve already bought all of the REs in the bundle that I wanted. Maybe maybe Polystep but to be honest Sequences looks 100 times better. So there you go. No sprouts on the Figgster family table tonight.

That’s very good! Thanks for explaining:)
Thanks for the comments about (not) hanging on for 12. But on the point of buying 11 Suite when I can't run it just to get the deal on the RE's so I can run them on 11, can anyone confirm if that would actually work please? Or must I somehow install/register 11 in order to access them? Or is that a question only Reason Studios can answer?
