Can anyone remind me- the master tune in Preferences > Audio,

If I were to tune it up or down (ex: 440+16 cents), which of these does it effect?-

A. RE instruments
B. VST instruments
C. Incoming audio tracks being recorded

If I remember correctly, it effects A + B, but leaves C alone, right?
:reason:)))

A. Yes, unless an RE ignores it.
B. Not sure, but you can figure it out, just set something weird and see.
C. Definitely not.

Just in case you need it, 440 Hz + 16 cents = 444.08531253322463724452492338565 Hz :)

Hmm, thanks for the reply, I didn't think some REs could ignore it!

As far as I'm aware, REs are required to adapt to the master tuning. At least it is listed as a requirement in the development acceptance txt. Unless it slipped through the acceptance testing, every RE should follow the master tune.

It is an acceptance requirement. But there are drum synths and samplers that don't respect the master tune. They have no notion of notes though. Still one could expect them shifting the pitch together with other instruments.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't actually know of a single non-conforming RE, that was just an assumption. I only know that Kong synth section does not change the pitch with the master tune (while NN-Nano sampler does it).
