My bet is that it's not free. Hope I'm wrong
This new "thing" RS working on, will it be included in R11?
yeah, I have a feeling you’re right. I also hope you’re wrong.

- It will be nice looking but not really useful
- It will be accompanied by a video that is a bit cringe
- It will be launched at a steep price
- It will then be massively discounted in the next sale
- It will then be added to the next version of reason
and probably to the Suite version. I wonder if that’s going to be their new model—release a group of new devices in between versions, and then include them all in the Suite version of the next major release.

If we're judging by thiat blurred picture, it is a player.

You can see the blurred GUI is the same GUI as all the other players they've released lol!

This thing will probably end up being something similar to Quad Note Generator, in that it'll look/sound neat, but I'll find no practical use for it despite fumbling around with it for ages. I'm more anxious to see if a new update will be released tomorrow along with it. Come oooon Rack MIDI out!

So the map thing in the teaser gif is actually part of the device?! Okay then
I’m not sure these kind of teaser / reveal things are such a good idea. This new thing has been speculated for a while now. People have been expecting something very interesting. It looks like another device, possibly another Player. From the speculation alone that’s going to leave a huge swathe of Reason heads pretty disappointed. So is it a good thing to promote things in this way? Seems to be the way things are done these days. But there has to be something pretty special at the end or it ends up a big anti climax. Like a long joke with a poor punchline.

i bet this is going to be a new type of player that controls the parameters of a synth.
generate a new unique synth patch with a few quick dials and control a whole bunch of parameters at once in a musical way (soft>intense etc). probably another device made with lectric pandas help making use of something that has always been a hit on those devices, the random (and not so random) patch generation button
if they continue pursuing the reason in a hardware box either standalone or eurorack the interface design will probably mirror this device
guess we will find out soon anyway

It might be a midi out interface indeed.

I don't feel like I wanna say much...

This is a great guess... I think I would actually love to see this type of player!
Further to this... what if it was a player that could connect itself to an effect-based RE/VST (not just an instrument), and it auto-wired itself to the effect's parameters? And then you could auto-generate FX patches... hmmm.

Sonar! I meant sonar, but I didn't want to get confused with that other program called (not) Sonar.
