Midi out in reason coming out according to Facebook

Doesn’t reason already have midi out with the midi device or is that just for hardware? Does midi out for reason mean for plugins, such as sampletank or any multitimbral vst/plugin? If so, I’ve been needing this too

*MIDI Out in RRP. So currently there's no way to send MIDI from your Player devices to VSTs when using Reason as a VST/AU. After the next update, there will be So you can use Reason as a big MIDI/Player tool box, scales/chords assistant, drum sequencer, etc. and record the output straight to a MIDI channel in Cubase/Logic/etc.

MIDI device is not available in the plugin.

A needed feature for the Reason Rack users though as now the Rack users can utilize Players with VSTis and other plugin formats outside of Reason or even hardware. It really opens up the program.

What if they just made a player device that could host a VST and forward its midi to the attached device? I mean I'd prefer a full midi cable implementation but that seems like something that isn't going to happen any time soon.

this is kind of brilliant. no idea if it’s feasible, but they really need to do something to allow us to get MIDI out from VSTs into the Reason sequencer. I’ve been trying all sorts of other DAWs in the last couple of months, and the more I use them, the more I see why I prefer Reason’s DAW. the MIDI VST thing is quickly becoming more and more important for me.

But Reason is my DAW, I will never use it as a plugin in another DAW.

You're not alone. Everyone needs this. Some users may just not realize it yet. VST midi devices is one of the biggest new and useful features in recent years. This is a perfect tool for the beat maker user market. RS not addressing this market segment properly is very very strange.

Some VSTs can emit MIDI, which you can route to some other device in VST hosts, but not in Reason.
