Hello Everyone
I use the M Class compressor and route my kick signal to the back into the Side Chain inputs, to duck out my bass and such. I just recently got some VST compressors and they don't have those plugs. Can anyone hook me up with a technique on how to side chain using a VST compressor?
Thanks for any help
Side Chain with a VST compressor
If it does not support it, it cannot work. If they support it, they have additional audio inputs, euch can be accessed on the back of the VST wrapper in the rack. Just expend the inputs/outputs programmer from it and you can connect it.

i am having this same issue.
i cannot for the life of me figure out how to sidechain to a vst comrpessor/fx.
if i click on "cv programmer" i see 3 stereo audio inputs, but none of my vst fx seem to register an audio input if i route it there.
i should add that i am not having luck with waves plugins specifically, namely vocal rider and even C1 sidechaining compressor.
but others work, like melda vst's.

The io device is for the effects. Route sidechain input to io sidechain output.
In host daw, sidechain controller to mix channel with rack plugin effect on it.
Bam, pumping noise,
The vst works like any other vst on the market.

This is not entirely accurate, sidechain doesn't work with Izotope Neutron products.
